FORT MASON CENTER IS ACCEPTING PROPOSALS FOR THE 2015/2016 FORT MASON CENTER PRESENTS PERFORMANCE SERIES Fort Mason Center, a dynamic arts and cultural center in a converted military facility, encompasses 13 waterfront acres and more than 250,000 square feet of indoor space, ranging from the 50,000-square-foot Festival Pavilion to the 437seat Cowell Theater and the 2,900-square-foot Firehouse. The Fort Mason Center Presents series was established to encourage exploration of new work within the dozens of venues on the historic campus. We are seeking site-specific proposals for performances between September 2015 and August 2016 that would occur in any of the locations, either indoors or outdoors. Past Fort Mason Center Presents performances include the world premiere of BANDALOOP’s Harboring in the Festival Pavilion, Capacitor’s Okeanos in the Herbst Pavilion, Mark Foehringer Dance Project|SF’s Dances of the Sacred and Profane in the Cowell Theater, LEVYdance’s ROMP! in the General’s Residence, ShadowLight Productions’ Poro Oyna: The Myth of the Aynu in the Southside Theater and Oekolos Production’s The Decameron at the Firehouse. We are seeking a wide spectrum of performance styles and aesthetics with a particular interest in contemporary and innovative approaches that utilize the Fort Mason Center spaces in new ways. Artists who seek a platform to exhibit work that would not typically conform to traditional presentation models are encouraged to apply. For selected partners, Fort Mason Center will provide the venue, pre-production technical support, facility services, and digital marketing from early creative stages to performance. Financial support of up to $25,000 is also possible.
