FORT MASON CENTER IS ACCEPTING
PROPOSALS FOR THE 2015/2016
FORT MASON CENTER PRESENTS
PERFORMANCE SERIES
Fort Mason Center, a dynamic arts and cultural center in a
converted military facility, encompasses 13 waterfront acres
and more than 250,000 square feet of indoor space, ranging
from the 50,000-square-foot Festival Pavilion to the 437seat Cowell Theater and the 2,900-square-foot Firehouse.
The Fort Mason Center Presents series was established to
encourage exploration of new work within the dozens of
venues on the historic campus.
We are seeking site-specific proposals for performances
between September 2015 and August 2016 that would occur in
any of the locations, either indoors or outdoors.
Past Fort Mason Center Presents performances include the
world premiere of BANDALOOP’s Harboring in the Festival
Pavilion, Capacitor’s Okeanos in the Herbst Pavilion, Mark
Foehringer Dance Project|SF’s Dances of the Sacred and
Profane in the Cowell Theater, LEVYdance’s ROMP! in the
General’s Residence, ShadowLight Productions’ Poro Oyna:
The Myth of the Aynu in the Southside Theater and Oekolos
Production’s The Decameron at the Firehouse.
We are seeking a wide spectrum of performance styles and
aesthetics with a particular interest in contemporary and
innovative approaches that utilize the Fort Mason Center
spaces in new ways. Artists who seek a platform to exhibit
work that would not typically conform to traditional presentation models are encouraged to apply.
For selected partners, Fort Mason Center will provide the
venue, pre-production technical support, facility services, and
digital marketing from early creative stages to performance.
Financial support of up to $25,000 is also possible.
