Job Title: Economic Development Associate Reports to: Executive Director ORGANIZATION The Economic Development Council of Mason County (EDC) is a private non‐profit organization, governed by a 20 member Board of Directors. As the lead economic development organization, our mission is to promote the economic stability and growth of Mason County by building a partnership of industry, government, labor, and education committed to facilitating business development and encouraging high‐income opportunities. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Economic Development Associate position will assist the director with the support and execution of programs associated with business retention, expansion, recruitment and entrepreneurial initiatives. The EDC is seeking a dynamic, proactive, action‐oriented professional to assist the Executive Director with the business development program, which includes: meeting with businesses, municipal partners and development professionals to secure new business investment and employment opportunities in Mason County. This associate position will have principal responsibility for the development, use and maintenance of multiple databases which support key EDC functionality. This is a six month part‐time position with the potential to become permanent. $12‐15 per hour DOQ. The full job description is shown below and is open until filled. Coordinates a variety of projects to include employer outreach, meeting coordination and facilitation, data analysis and research, and the creation of reports for the director and/or Board of Directors. 2. Collects and analyzes labor market data to identify job market trends. Stays informed of current initiatives, practices and programs available in the local area. 3. Supports development of strategic and operating plans, and grant proposals through research, partnerships with internal and external constituents, data analysis and writing. 4.
