TRUSTEE APPOINTMENTS The Geffrye Museum is seeking to appoint three Trustees to its Board. The Geffrye explores the history of home over the past 400 years. It is set in beautiful Grade 1 listed former almshouses with lovely gardens in Shoreditch, Hackney, and attracts over 110,000 visitors a year. The museum has a strong reputation for innovative learning and engagement programmes which reach a very wide range of audiences, from schoolchildren to vulnerable older people, and youth groups and students to families. This is an exciting time to be joining the Board. The Museum is undergoing a period of major change, and is planning a £15m capital development for which Heritage Lottery Funds are being sought. Trustees have an important role as governors and advocates and are expected to support the museum’s fundraising campaigns. Candidates from a range of backgrounds who meet the role criteria and have skills and abilities in one or more of the following areas are especially welcome: Creative and/or digital industries Academic and/or curatorial work Property and development Museums and the arts. Trustee appointments are made by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport. These are non-executive positions with no remuneration.
