Dunnellon Moose Lodge 2308 Sponsors child into Mooseheart In early October, we received an inquiry from Kyle Rife, Director of Admissions and Recruiting at Mooseheart. Kyle was looking for sponsorship for Nathalya Rosario, who along with her sister had applied for acceptance to Mooseheaart. She is 11 years old, in the 4th grade and described as loveable and active. She enjoys swimming and riding her bike. The application was made as her mother works difficult hours and fears for her daughters’ safety as she struggles to provide adequate supervision. The Dunnellon Board of Officers reviewed the request and unanimously approved the acceptance of sponsorship! The primary role in serving as the Sponsor is not to provide financial support. While it is wonderful if we can provide gifts, e.g. birthday, Christmas, it is far more important that we make regular contact. In addition to birthday and holiday cards an encouraging note or letter spurring her on to do her best in school will let her know we care! We will give you her birth date in a future issue. Please keep Nathalya in mind as you prepare for the holidays - while admission to Mooseheart will provide for her care, it will be hard to be away from her family for the holiday. Please consider providing some joy to the children identified by the Dunnellon schools as needing assistance this Christmas. Please check your calendar for the dates scheduled for putting up the Christmas decorations and shopping for and wrapping the presents.
