OFFICER’S CORNER
A nominating committee will be forming by the end of Feb, 2015. If anyone is interested in holding an office please ask for a slip to fill out and turn it in to be considered.
Fraternally,
Marne
Committee Chairman
I hate starting this darn thing with apologies, but our broaster is being held hostage in Tillamook. It shall however be retrieved, so what I thought would be a
great addition to the new year has been delayed, sadly.
The kitchen is still looking for occasional volunteers to do weekend meals. CALL!
Moose Races trifecta is up to $700 so come on a Friday to play and win. Check
the calendar for dates.
Valentine’s Day we are hosting a senior dance for everyone who likes to kick up
their heels and have fun. Prizes and other goings on and a lasagna dinner for just
$10.
Celebrate Fat Tuesday here with gumbo!
I have been waiting patiently by the phone for calls from all the members with
light fixtures to donate so we can light the basement. Oh silent phone do not destroy me.
We applied for disabled parking in front now that the sidewalks are paved. I’m
waiting patiently for that to happen.
A big free beer and pizza party to everyone who shows up on Feb 28th to spruce
up the Moose. There is a long list of projects that have been neglected and we
need your help. Want to start a fun event for members and families? Come to the
lodge and talk to me about it. A lack of weekend functions make a lodge that is no
fun. Our Sunday breakfasts rock!

FROM THE WOMEN OF THE MOOSE
The holidays are over and January has flown by. Where has the time gone? I missed last month’s bulletin so here
are some belated thank yous.
Our children’s Breakfast with Santa was a joint activity with the Elks and American Legion. Thank you to the Elks
for organizing and hosting the breakfast and craft activities. A huge thanks to our members that assisted. The children all had a wonderful time.
We had another successful Christmas shopping spree. From our many fundraisers we were able to provide gifts for
Christmas for the residents at the domestic violence shelter, 20 children through The Harbor, a family of 4 children
whose mom is recovering from cancer and additional gifts for the Wishing Tree Program. Thank you for all your
generosity. This is why we are Proud to Be a Moose.
Upcoming events in February:
Sunday, February 15th - Green Cap/Ways & Means Committee Meeting honoring Linda Flesey. Potluck lunch at 1
pm with meeting following at 2 pm and bag raffle and Moose bench raffle. Please come support Linda and the chapter.
Sunday, February 22nd - Bingo and Dessert Auction. Doors open at noon, bingo begins at 1 pm. Desserts will be
auctioned between games. Proceeds will be used to help purchase a Child ID kit. These kits are around $1500 and
the State is trying to raise money to purchase two kits to be shared throughout the State. Won’t you join us at the
moose for some of our activities?
Fraternally,
Sheri Mitchell

Reminder on dues
A lot of us don’t remember when our dues expire. So please check your card as to when
dues expire. If that happens at the end of this
month, please remit those dues as soon as
possible to stay on the active list. We are all
important to our children at Mooseheart and
our seniors at Moosehaven for our support.
Thanking you in advance…
