Pray for Our Students and Staff in Nicaragua
The following students along with Tim Higgins left at 6:30 a.m. yesterday for Sheil's ninth service trip to Nicaragua. They will, once again, be
working with the Fabretto Foundation helping them advance their mission
of "empowering children and their families in Nicaragua to reach their full
potential and improve their livelihoods through education and nutrition. "
Let us pray for their safety, physical work and spiritual growth.

But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop."

Yes! - the new HVAC system installation is
COMPLETE!
Now we could use some help cleaning up and re-organizing. The construction
workers will do the heavy work. We need volunteers to do the fine details. Dusting will be a top priority.
This is the perfect opportunity for high school and college students to rack up
some community service hours!
All are welcome to join us this

A Lent
Invitation
For Everyone
Mary Deeley is offering to help facilitate
a book study on "The
Church of Mercy"
- the collection of Pope Francis's
sermons and addresses. We are inviting all students and associates to take
part. Mary will prepare the reading
schedule and reflection questions for
each week. The plan is to offer several
sessions either at Sheil, in a home, or
in the residence halls at different days
and times. It is necessary to guage interest now so Mary knows how many
books to order.

Spirituality
Reading Group
On January 4 the Spirituality Reading
Group will begin a discussion of the
book "The Unbearable Wholeness of
Being: God, Evolution, and the Power
of Love" by Ilia Delio. The group
will meet at Sheil after the 9:30 Mass,
and will begin with the introduction
and first chapter. All are welcome.

Spirituality Film Series
Today
Today, Sunday, December. 14,
from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Sheil will host
a discussion of the second film in
the "Considering the Spiritual" film
series. The event will be for discussion only.
Participants will need to have seen the
film before coming to the discussion.
Discussion is open to all participants.
The film is Carl Dreyer's 1926
"The Passion of Joan of Arc," considered by virtually all film critics
one of the greatest films ever made.
The film is b&w and silent. It is
intense and visually brilliant. The
film is even available in its entirety on
YouTube. Just google the title. But
we recommend getting a DVD or Blu
Ray and watching it on a big screen.
Hosts for the discussion are Lisa &
Alan Fortini-Campbell and Mel Livatino. If you have questions or want to
reserve a space at the first discussion,
