The Body Building a Tree
We are still praising God for the immense fruit of the 2014 Living Christmas Tree: 25
received Christ as their personal Savior; 48 re-committed their life to Christ; 13 would like
to know more; and 17 need a church home.
The Living Christmas Tree (LCT) is a beautiful
illustration of the Body of Christ at work. There
are many gifts, but one Spirit; many sounds
making one voice; a variety of skills and abilities,
but one purpose. As this diverse assortment of
people sow seeds of inspiration mixed with some
perspiration, God raises a beautiful TREE that
glorifies Him, presents the Gospel to seekers,
and encourages the Body! The LCT team is made
up of many selfless servants who are not in the
spotlight. People like…
Elaine LeFleur and her Sunday School
class who decorated the tree.
Chip Colee and Jay Wolf
Jeff Mayton who guided his team of helpers to safely get thousands of people in and
out of the building and find seats for them.
Tim Adams and Vance Bailey who worked very
hard to get the choir in the right places on the
tree so it looked perfect each time.
Jeff Haney who skillfully oversaw the safe
construction and takedown of the tree structure.
Allen Luckie and Beau Cooper who made sure the
net wire and greenery was put on the tree.
William Bozeman, Lee Bozeman and Bob Ivey
who made sure each light was connected and
working properly.
There are different kinds of
gifts, but the same Spirit. There
are different kinds of service,
but the same Lord. There are
different kinds of working, but
in all of them and in everyone
it is the same God at work.
— 1 Corinthians 12:4-6
Parking lot workers including Jim Wingfield, Payton Casey and Ken Whittle who made
a great first impression, as well as Wes Phillips and others who provided golf cart rides
to the door.
Dean Thornell and the kitchen team who served a nice meal for the LCT team between
presentations on Saturday and Sunday.
Vann Self who cared for the Children’s Choir when they were not singing.
Carol Bailey, Sharon Self, Judy Denton, and a team of others who spent many hours
handling the ticket distribution.
Angie Martin and the caring group of childcare workers who took care of hundreds of
children during the weekend.
John Bush and Steve Langer’s leadership over the prayer team that sorted and prayed
over the response cards.
This list could go on and on, but from the soloists in the spotlight on the front of the stage to
the cleanup crew, none of these people or anyone on the LCT team serves for recognition.
Instead, this is our offering to the Lord and we are thankful to have this incredible opportunity
to share the power of the Gospel in such a unique and effective way! To God be the Glory!
