Page 2 Understanding ACS Result Letters ACS result letters are issued on the completion of an ACS skills assessment as a secure PDF file via email. The result letter can be submitted as evidence of a skills assessment to the Department of Immigration and Boarder Protection for migration purposes. In some cases, individual result letters may not include work experience or qualifications, depending on the type of application submitted. For example: The Temporary Graduate – 485 skills assessment only reports on the Australian Qualification. Applicants can be assessed under different ANZSCO codes and receive multiple valid result letters, but can only have one skills application in progress at any one time. To be assessed under a different ANZSCO code after the completion of a current assessment, please refer to the Review application type in the Skills Assessment Guidelines. Section 1 Section 1 states the suitability outcome under the ANZSCO code chosen by the applicant. Section 2 Section 2 will list only the suitable ICT qualifications assessed, the date completed and the AQF comparability. Qualifications assessed as “Insufficient in ICT Content”, “Not Recognised” or “Not an ICT qualification” are not listed in the result letter. At least 65% of the ICT content must be relevant to the ANZSCO code for a qualification to be considered closely related. Qualifications assessed as Not Recognised in Australia are assessed in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework and the Country Education Profiles. The result letter will not state if the qualification is closely related or not. This can be determined by the skill date in the Summary of Criteria by the number of years of relevant experience required. Page 3 Section 3 The result letter will state the “Skill Level Requirement Met Date” which is determined by the ACS suitability criteria. All relevant work experience completed after the “Skill Level Requirement Met Date” will be considered “Skilled Employment” and eligible for points under the skilled migration points test. The work experience required to meet the suitability criteria is NOT included as “Skilled Employment” and is NOT eligible for points under the skilled migration points test. The ACS assessment process seeks to find the earliest “Skill Level Requirement Met Date” possible for each assessment. Section 4 All work experience assessed at an ICT professional level and relevant to the ANZSCO code will be noted in Section 4, but only work experience completed after the “Skill Level Requirement Met Date” can be considered “Skilled Employment” and eligible for points under the skilled migration points test. Employment dates can only be calculated until the date of submission. The “To Date” will be taken from the date in the employment documentation or the submission date of the application – whichever comes first. The duration of employment is calculated on a month to month basis and not on individual days. Page 4 Section 5 Work experience assessed as unsuitable will be listed in Section 5 and will state the reason not considered as skilled employment. Common scenarios for unsuitable work experience: The employment period is concurrent with another employment period. Only one period of employment can be accepted at any one time. (Concurrent Employment) Based on the information provided in the documentation, the duties have been assessed as not closely related to the nominated occupation. This means less than 65% of the duties are not relevant to the nominated occupation. (Not Closely Related to the Nominated ANZSCO) The employment documentation is insufficient and does not meet the ACS requirements as per the Skills Assessment Guidelines. (Not Assessable due to Insufficient Documentation) Changes to a result letter cannot be made after an application is finalized and a result letter issued. Applicants that require additional qualifications or employment episodes to be re-assessed and included in the assessment result are required to submit a Review application as described in the Skills Assessment Guidelines. Applicants who wish to dispute the outcome of the assessment result are required to submit a Review or Appeal application as described in the Skills Assessment Guidelines.
