Gifts to Teachers
To show our appreciation for the support we have received through the years from RMHS teachers, we
are sending these teachers more than 70 hand-made panda crafts. The crafts were made by the students
from the Crafts elective class, taught by Yulan Yin. Many parents volunteered their time and helped make
the crafts. The ACS Principal, Sam Liu, personally put the panda craft on each RMHS teacher’s desk.

Leaders hip Seminar
The topic of leadership has special relevance for Asian-Americans, who form the most educated
demographic yet are underrepresented in leadership positions and face higher academic standards in
college admissions.
On Dec. 13, guest speaker Adrienne Lo presented a seminar for parents and students to learn about
leadership - what it means to Asian Americans, what top universities are looking for, and how parents can
help. Ms. Lo is a Yale alum admissions interviewer, MBA, and human capital strategist at AstraZeneca.
She is also the founder of IvyLead (www.ivylead.org), a new leadership development program for teens
based on the practices of top companies and business schools.
The seminar was well attended. Many parents interacted with the speaker and asked a lot of questions.
