Enjoyed the opportunity to see

Thank you AUB!
Sixth form exhibition
• A fantastic display of our AS and A2 students skills is
on view in the reception foyer, testament to the high
standards and dedication shown by our y12 and y 13
students these artworks inspire students of all ages.
Results are looking very promising for August!
• Work by Ancharin Jarutan below left and Chelsea Cran below right.
Life drawing
For the first time at Avonbourne, we are
delighted to be able to offer life drawing
workshops to prospective and current sixth
formers. Examples of life drawing are a great
addition to any Art portfolio and a real
advantage at HE interviews. Well done to all
those who attended, some fantastic work was
produced.
RBA Winners…again!!
Once again
Avonbourne Art students
Have achieved success
At a national level with work
chosen by the RBA for display at
The National Students Exhibition
At The Mall Galleries in
London.
Huge congratulations to
Sadie White y11(above right) and
Catherine Rees y10 (Bottom left).
Huge success in London!
Visiting The Mall galleries in London on 8th July
2014 (1 day after the Tour de France ended their
race in the same location!) for ‘The 12th National
Students’ Art Exhibition’ the Art department
was incredibly proud to hear that work selected
represented the top 500 student artists in the
country. The majority of artworks were completed
by y 13 students. Sadie(y11) and Catherine(y10)
were also very proud to be the only school
representing Bournemouth in the entire exhibition!
PTI accreditation
The Art Department are now very proud
members of the Princes Teaching Institute
‘Consisting of a mixture of lectures by eminent speakers, teacher
led workshops and one-to-one consultations with experienced
Heads of Department, participants to enhance their
department's work and feed their discussion conclusions back to
senior policy-makers.’
Rigorous objectives are then set by the department to ensure
the highest standards are maintained within our subject area.
