About the conference
In August 2014, the Loddon Mallee Acquired Brain Injury Network (LMABIN), in collaboration with
Bendigo Health, will stage its second industry specific region-wide conference. The conference will
bring together knowledge and experience from a wide range of practitioners and academics with

their carers.
This conference will provide, present and debate contemporary and emerging trends and issues for
people living with and ABI. Conference participation will:
Support participating consumers to live differently
Support participating professionals to practise more effectively
The conference will generate a region wide programme of ongoing training/conference extension

About Bendigo Health
Bendigo Health is the largest regional health service in Victoria, serving the diverse community of the greater
Loddon Mallee region, an area that covers one quarter of the state of Victoria and reaches from Gisborne in the
south to Mildura in the north west.
The health service had its beginnings 160 years ago, when the local doctors and miners on the goldfields
recognised the diggers needed a health facility to provide appropriate care and treatment; to improve health
outcomes for the growing community and later, as railways and highways extended their reach, a service for
communities in outlying areas.
Today, Bendigo Health provides a range of bed based and community services, with a strong commitment to
enhanced continuum of care for regional residents who have an ABI, their families and carers. The organisations
commitment to the ABI conference is evidence of this commitment.
About Bendigo and the greater Loddon Mallee region
Located two hours north of Melbourne, the City of Greater Bendigo is a vibrant, contemporary regional centre
with a rich history. From its botanic gardens, art gallery and laneways, to the historical links to the gold rush days
and connection to the Chinese community, wineries and food, Bendigo has many attractions for visitors. This
diversity and proximity to Melbourne, along with a number of major infrastructure investment programs, sees
Bendigo the fastest growing region outside of Melbourne and Geelong as people look to its education, industry
and lifestyle opportunities.
The Loddon Mallee region occupies more than a quarter of Victoria and with one of the most consistently warm
climates in the State, people flock to the region for the waterways of the Murray River, acclaimed restaurants and
wineries, heritage towns and grand forests.
Conference Venue
The Living with ABI Conference will be held at the All Seasons Hotel, a four star facility in Bendigo, offering
excellent conference facilities and accommodation. All Seasons Hotel is one of the largest and most versatile
conference complexes in regional Victoria and offers an excellent range of conference facilities.
