Caldicot Castle’s Welsh Medieval Banquet
Caldicot Castle – The home of Welsh Castle life. Join us to relive decadent feast times and
enjoy a Welsh Medieval Banquet to remember in our Great Gatehouse Banquet Hall. Come
and be entertained with our Caldicot Castle Minstrels, a group of singers with a harpist,
pianist and juggler.
Listen to English and Welsh solos, duets and trios, harp and piano in various combinations.
Share the splendour as our Minstrels invite you to join in with their singing. Watch our
juggler perform using clubs, rings, balls and diablo and even fire (when appropriate). Hear
some history of the castle and medieval tales.

A glass of Castle Red or Castle White Wine and a glass of Mead will be included in your feast. Drinks
will also be available to purchase throughout your evening.
For your group please choose either the shoulder of lamb or honey roast chicken option. We are not
able to mix a selection of both for you. Please also specify how many vegetarian options your group
will need. We can fully cater to all special dietary requirements and will need to be made aware of
this upon booking.

Make your event with us extra special and choose one of the

Castle Cocktails - £8.50 each
A fabulous welcome drink for your guests to help get your evening started. We can serve your
cocktails either in the Courtyard (weather permitting) or in our Archers Bar.
Welsh Knights Welcome – An award winning Welsh whisky, Penderyn, based cocktail with
ginger ale and cloudy apple juice.
Caldicocktail – Our castle twist on a classic Vodka & Lemonade, with lime and angostura
bitters.
Castle Royale – A sparkling wine cocktail with Pimms. The perfect way to start a celebration.
Knight Sir Thomas - £250
Our Knight Sir Thomas will greet your guests. He comes fully armoured and ready to guard
our castle from unwanted invaders! Let him gather your guests at our drawbridge and only
allow them entry upon a password. He will then lead your guests into the courtyard and
onto the bar where their night of feasting will begin.
Lady Allianore - £250
Our Lady of the Castle will great your guests and she makes a perfect accompaniment to the
Knight. He will show your guests how to great our lady before they meet her.
Bakewell – price on individual request
Bakewell is our favourite animatronic Dragon. Bakewell the Dragon is a State of the Art
Animatronic Puppet which is controlled by an operator or can be pre-programmed.
Archery - £185
Have a go at Archery, a fitting theme of entertainment for your time with us. Our archers
will show you how to hit your target in our Courtyard.
Your Banquet is extremely important to us and we will work with you to make it extra special. If you
have an individual request we are more than happy to work with you on this. We can also
accommodate up to 499 people in our courtyard in a marquee, yurt or tipi, prices are available on
request.
