Students were asked ‘If you’ve been bullied what did you do about it?’ - Indicates that students are using ‘Name It’. - A variety of strategies are being used. Renaming it will be an area to focus on throughout Term 4. BYSTANDER Students were asked ‘Have you seen someone being bullied? If so what did you do about it?’ • Indicates the ‘Name It’ strategy is being used to support our Bully Stoppers Program– ‘Make A Stand, Lend A Hand.’ Summary of Results: We know ‘Name It’ is being used as a strategy throughout the school, which is fantas4c. √ Analysis of the results from the Student Safety Survey indicate greater focus around steps 3 & 4 of our ’Name It’ Strategy. This is ‘re-naming it’ un4l the child gets the desired outcome. We will be explicitly teaching these steps in Term 4 and encouraging students to ’Name It’ to a teacher un4l the issue is resolved. Being able to use strategies and independently deal with issues helps develop confidence and resilience in kids. One of our goals in our new strategic plan is to build stronger resilience in our students so that they can deal with the challenges that life throws at them.
