(Quality of Piped Drinking Water) Regulations
• Under these Regulations, piped drinking water suppliers are
required to:
• Prepare water safety and sampling plans
• In accordance with the Code of Practice on Piped Drinking
Water Sampling and Safety Plans
• Seek approval from the Director-General of Public Health, and
implement the plans
• Review the water safety plan at least once a year, and seek
approval if the plan is to be amended
Penalty in case of a non-compliance: S$10K

Water quality standards
• Piped drinking water suppliers are also
required to:
• Comply with water quality
standards
• Carry out testing of water in
accordance with approved water
sampling plan
• Submit test results to NEA
• In case of failure to comply with
standards – notify NEA, and take
remedial actions
