HC Make NSEL
respondent in PIL
Mumbal: The Bombay High Court on
Monday ordered that the National
Spot Exchange Ltd (NSEL) be made a
respondent in a public interest litigation
(PIL) seeking the transfer of a probe by
Mumbai Police to the Central Bureau of
Investigation (CBI) into the alleged
5,500 crore scam.
A bench headed by justice P.V. Hardas
asked the petitioner to make NSEL a
respondent and asked the latter to file a
reply. The PiLfiled by activist Ketan
Tirodkar argued that since the scam had
national and international ramifications,
only the CBl had the necessary jurisdic-
tion to probe this matter.
