A bench headed by justice P.V. Hardas asked the petitioner to make NSEL a respondent and asked the latter to file a reply. The PiLfiled by activist Ketan Tirodkar argued that since the scam had national and international ramifications, only the CBl had the necessary jurisdic- tion to probe this matter. He said the NS alleged case pertained to financial embezzlements by the Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd and Financial Technologies (India) Limited—both promoted by Jignesh Shah. Rio
