Search for providers at www.regence.com/find-a-doctor Provider Network Options The provider network is physicians and facilities that your plan has negotiated with to accept a reduced payment amount for eligible medical services. The services covered under each plan design option are the same, regardless of the provider network you select. If you visit physicians and facilities that are in your network, you will only be required to pay your copay or coinsurance amount on the lower negotiated network cost of the service (after any deductible, if applicable). You are still able to visit physicians and facilities that are not in your network; however, you will pay a higher coinsurance amount (in Advantage and Comprehensive). In all plan design options, the plan will pay what it would pay a network provider and you may be billed by the out-of-network provider for costs in excess of the amount a network provider would accept. Additionally, the Advantage option has a deductible for out-of-network providers that must be met before benefits are payable by the health plan. The University has three provider networks from which to choose: University Health Care Plus (administered by University of Utah Health Plans), Preferred ValueCare and Participating (PAR) (both administered by Regence BlueCross BlueShield). The University encourages employees to utilize the outstanding University of Utah Health Care medical staff who are an important part of each of the provider networks. The University is pleased to announce that later this year we will be adding health coverage for Autism Spectrum Disorder. We believe Autism Spectrum Disorder affects approximately 2% of children in our country. To assist us in developing this program, we encourage employees whose children could take advantage of covered health plan services to complete a short, anonymous survey. The survey will help us understand treatment needs, accessibility of certified providers, affordability of services, and any treatment in process. Please visit www.hr.utah.edu/benefits/autism anytime during May 2014 to complete the survey.
