Hello ABWA Sisters,
We had a great program in March with Retired Sgt. Major Patricia Payne. Patricia shared her stories as
she moved from the military to the corporate ladder as a vice president in the banking world. Patricia
gave some great ideas on what it takes to be a great leader as you are climbing the ladder.
Attendance was fabulous. It was wonder to see so many guests.
We had a great ABWA lunch bunch for the second month. We also participated in the Women History
program at Northwest Florida State College as our Spring Enrollments Event. We hope to tap into the
collage and get some of the ladies to join this wonderful association.
We are excited to announce that we have a slate of officer for the upcoming year. Thanks to Jackie,
Gail and Sallye for doing such an outstanding job in getting this task taken care of. We will be voting in
May.
I hope you got a chance to see the March Chamber Business Forum. We were lucky enough to speak
about the 21st annual Billy Bowleg Boat Poker Run. Please visit http://youtu.ne/thfwrh6ESdo and check
it out. Thanks to our Publicity chair for getting this all set up.
By the time you read this letter we will only have one month left before the big event. I hope each of
you will play a major part in making this the best Boat Poker Run EVER! Inspire and be inspired as we
sparkle and shine. Don’t forget to bring two or more door prizes. We are in need of door prizes for the
Boat Poker Run.
We are looking for slightly used formal dresses for the Prom dress store. Please bring your donated dress
to the April meeting. Z96 Radio, Santa Rosa Mall and One Wireless have set-up “The Z96 Prom Dress
Store. Dresses are provided free to high school young ladies whose families might not have the
financial means to purchase a dress for prom. What a great way for our ABWA Sister to help these
young ladies attend the prom. Last year the store provided 111 young ladies dresses. Dixie Service
Cleaners will provide dry cleaning services if necessary. Let’s help these young ladies “sparkle and
shine”. For more information see the membership announcement in the newsletter.
Please remember all our members that are going through some medical issues. Also, don’t forget to
keep the Fife family in your thoughts and prayers. Freda will be dearly missed by this community.

ABWA Member Spotlight:
Meet Pam White, Financial Advisor (by Jackie Pilcher)
Pam was born in Kansas but moved about since her father was in the Air Force. She ended up here when her father
chose FWB as the place to retire. The middle child of three girls, Pam stayed here and married Rick 40 years ago!
They have a son, Jon, and two dogling children, Egypt and Coco.
Pam gives credit to ABWA in helping her become successful in her business endeavors: first as a Bank Vice
President and now as a financial advisor with First Command, passing all of her examinations on the first go!
Pam and Rick enjoy Kayaking and the beach. She studied art at NW Florida state college and still enjoys drawing
and painting. Pam collects art in several mediums and enjoys gargoyles. She points out that gargoyles guard Notre
Dame Cathedral.
June Davis introduced Pam to ABWA when she attended a Chamber function and Freda Fife was there as well.
ABWA has helped Pam grow as a person. Becky Belcher handed her a large notebook assuring Pam she would be a
terrific grand prize chair for the Poker Run and the rest is history! Pam has served our chapter as secretary (former
and current), Treasurer, Vice President and President. She attributes these offices to helping become more confident
when speaking to large groups. Pam was selected as woman of the year in 2008 and said it really influenced her and
helped her self-esteem. When Pam's former position was down-sized, Rene Street emailed her letting her know that
ABWA would be there to help her with no-fee classes for finding new employment.
Pam also serves as a member of Business Referral Partners and the FWB Chamber of Commerce. She is a former
member of the FWB Lions Club.
Pam's greatest challenge is growing her financial planning business. She offers common-sense planning for one's
financial future. One doesn't have to have a lot of money or assets to begin the process! She strives to help people
have a better life and this is her real passion. Pam is most drawn to people who care about others and live their lives
that way. She doesn't care for mean people.
Pam's role model is a lady for whom she worked in banking. This lady would give Pam projects and walk away.
Pam may not have known exactly what to do but she worked it out on her own and this helped her become stronger.
If you glimpse Pam's beautiful blue eyes, you can most likely guess her favorite color. Pam White, Financial
Planner for First Command. Why not let her help you plan Your Future (850-642-1732)?
Membership notes: We will start spotlighting our new members each month!
We welcome Dr. Roe to our dynamic group! She was affiliated in March 2014 at our dinner and we are excited that
she has already been participating in every one of our events that she can attend- including having a table at our
Fall Membership event last year.
I, for one can attest to her skills – I visited her Open House at the 8th Element Wellness
Clinic this weekend. I walked in with a lot of neck pain and not long after I left,
realized my neck didn’t hurt anymore!
Dr. Sheryl Roe D.O.M., R.N. - Acupuncture Physician has a Master’s degree in
Chinese Medicine. She is nationally certified in acupuncture and herbal medicine.
Dr. Roe is also a licensed herbalist and has been a registered nurse for the past 25
yrs. Dr. Roe has been treating people successfully with acupuncture and Traditional
Chinese Medicine for over 14 years.
Her experience and background in western medicine provide her with a unique ability to relate with and work sideby-side with western medical physicians in providing treatment for patients with a broad range of illnesses. Dr. Roe
provides treatment for all types of pain, sleep, eating and smoking disorders, as well as anxiety, depression,
hypertension, and auto-immune disorders such as lupus and fibromyalgia. Dr. Roe has a clear understanding of
medications and medical treatments prescribed by western medicine physicians and she understands how difficult
and painful some of those treatments can be.
Dr. Roe spent 10 years working with leading western medicine physicians and authorities in the largest HIV/AIDS
treatment center in the country. While working at that facility Ms. Roe was asked to travel to Berlin, Germany where
she presented her poster and spoke at the 1993 International Conference on HIV/ AIDS.
Dr. Roe spent several years providing care to both AIDS and cancer patients before she began treating patients
with severe and chronic pain at a hospital pain clinic. Here she worked closely with western medicine physicians
providing care for those suffering from all types of physical pain including back pain, joint and muscle pain,
