Eighth Grade Baby Picture
The yearbook staff is now collecting
baby pictures of eighth graders for
the yearbook. Parents may email a
baby picture of their child, along with
a short encouraging message to
[email protected]. These
pictures/messages will appear in color
on a 1/4 page in the school yearbook.
The cost is $10; checks made out to
Montana City School or cash should
be given to Miss Murphy, the yearbook editor. Pictures will be accepted
now through March 1.
Pictures will be returned to students
the second week of March.

and are coming home with
students today.

High School Registration
All high school registration
forms are due February 25.
Parent nights for Helena High
School will be held on February 24 at
Helena Middle School at 6:30 p.m. and
at East Valley Middle School in East
Helena at 7 p.m. on February 25.
Parents of seventh and eighth grade
students are invited to Jefferson High
School Parent Night on Thursday, February 27 at 6:30 p.m. at JHS.
Free appetizers will be prepared and
served by JHS’s award-winning
ProStart class at 6:30 p.m., followed by
school tours, question and answer sessions and opportunities to visit and ask
questions of current JHS students.
There will be raffles for JHS activity
passes, t-shirts, Panther Bucks gift
cards and baked goods.
Transportation will be provided.
Bus will pick up at 5:30 p.m. at Montana City Store, 5:45 p.m. at Clancy
Post Office and 5:55 p.m. at Jefferson
City Post Office. Return transportation
will also be provided.
Come join the fun and get your
name entered in the raffle for just
showing up! Please sign up no later
than February 21.
Miss Bogen and fourth and fifth
grade students will travel to the
Helena Civic Center on Thursday,
February 20 to attend a live symphonic performance of “Peter vs.
The Wolf” as performed by the
Helena Symphony.

Middle School
Winter Activity Day
On Friday, February 21, Montana
City School middle school students will
participate in our annual Winter Activity Day.
Sixth grade students will ice skate
and participate in activities at Montana
Wild. Parents who wish to have their
student wear a helmet while skating
should contact either Mr. Maxwell,
Miss Bogen or Mrs. Flathers.
Seventh grade students will travel to
Moose Creek Cabin in the Tenmile
Creek/Rimini area where they will take
part in several activities coordinated by
the school and the Montana Discovery
Foundation.
Eighth grade students will ski at
Great Divide.
Many thanks to our creative and

this day so memorable for our students.

Girl Scout Tropp #3506 is collecting items for the Lewis & Clark
Humane Society. Items they need
include bleach, toys, dog and cat
food, old blankets and towels. Donation boxes are in the lobby and
old entrance. The drive runs
through Friday, February 14.
Helena High basketball Bengal
Days Saturday, February 15 from
8:30 to 10 a.m. in the Helena High
School gym. Helena High boys JV
and varsity basketball players and
coaches will be hosting a basketball clinic for boys and girls in
grades K-6. Free for every student.
Bring your gym clothes & shoes to
participate in drills and learn the
fundamentals of the game. Also
bring anything you want the players to autograph. Lots of drawings
and free prizes.
Jefferson Little Guy Wrestling sign
ups and fist practice are February
17, 2014 @ 4 p.m. in the Jefferson
High School cafeteria in Boulder.
The season is five weeks from February 17 through March 22. Registration forms can be picked up at
the MCS office. Early registration
needs to be turned in by February

Elkhorn Division HBRBA would
like to announce that registration
for the 2014 baseball season is
now open for K-6 graders as well
as 13-15 year olds. Pick up your

Come to this year’s Royal Ball for a
Daddy Daughter Dance from 7 to
10 p.m. February 22 in the Montana
City School multipurpose room.
Tickets are $10 per couple and $3
for every extra girl at the door.
Wear royal attire or Sunday best.
Photography is available at an extra
cost. Refreshments will be provided. The first 25 girls will receive a
free glow-in-the-dark bracelet! So
come on down to this year’s royalthemed Daddy Daughter Dance for
a ball!
Tennis is Elementary is returning to
Montana City School for K-5 grade
students excited about tennis.
When: Monday, March 3;
Wednesday, March 5; Monday,
March 10 and Wednesday, March
12 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the
Montana City School gym. Cost is
$25. Register online at

Elementary program provides
young players the opportunity to
learn basic fundamentals, teamwork

tennis instructors. Using smaller
racquets, nets and court sizes,
QuickStart tennis gives kids the
chance to learn and start to play
right away.
