EBENEZER METHODIST CHURCH PARCHMENT VOLUME 14 ISSUE 1 2014 TO WORSHIP GOD JOY FULLY , OFFER CHRIST FAITHFULLY, PROM OTE GROWTH HOPEFULLY, SERVE OTHERS LOVINGLY L OV E I S I N T H E A I R T he Valentines Dinner held Saturday, February 15, 2014, hosted by the youth department, was a great success. At a cost of only $15.00 everyone enjoyed a delicious meal, awesome entertainment and a workout on the dance floor. Prepared by Chef Cynthia Fowler, the menu was stuffed cornish hen, garlic potato, and broccoli normandy, served with excellence by the staff of Team EPIC (youth department members). Entertainment included special surprises from Shelby Dorsette with her vocal solo, “Saving all my Love” by Whitney Houston, as she powerfully reached those high notes, and from Breanna Williams on her smooth flowing poetry expressing the dimensions of love. Additionally, team EPIC put on a wonderful fashion show modeling styles just right for your date or wedding. The night was also filled with jazz, classical, pop, funk, and Bahamian music by the house band GKB (Giavanna Knowles Band) with Giavanna Knowles as vocalist, Ashton McQuay on piano (member of Bahamas National Youth Choir, BNYC), Trevor Wilson on Drums, and L’senio Bethel on Saxophone. The band featured vocal solos from three members of The BNYC, Chanell Rolle, Whitney Chandler, and Alden Chisholm (Pianist for Ebenezer Youth Ensemble). Additionally, we were entertained by a band called Force Fusion, with Lynden Sands on the Saxophone and Matthew Rolle on the trumpet and congo drums. We extend a special thank you to all of those who contributed to bringing the evening to life, and we look forward to another successful Valentine’s Dinner. P U P P E TS R E T U R N! We were pleased to have the puppets join us at the Youth Service on January 19, 2014. Giavanna Knowles spoke to the puppets who shared with the congregation an anti-bullying message which was enjoyed by both children and adults present. We look forward to hearing more from the puppets during the year. P.O.
