Hello Everyone for August and of course, The Ekka We hope this finds you well. July gigs have been very enjoyable for the band. Added bonus - it’s been great temperatures for dancers to show their style minus the fatigue factor. OTM has managed to keep on keeping on, despite a few cold July temperatures. We can tell you that we have now done our coldest pack-up on record – at Toowoomba, when it was one degree around midnight. Chances are it was our fastest ever, too! But a great night for those who braved the elements. Caloundra supporters, ready to dance from the first note right through till closing, well and truly set the July standard. Sandgate RSL, Club Banora and Twin Towns then added much to the mix. We (and everyone who was there) thoroughly enjoyed the sunny Sunday afternoon at The Bearded Dragon, Tamborine Village, recently. We didn’t manage to fit in the Toad Races, but many included them, or the reptile show, in their afternoon. The last July weekend saw us at Coorparoo and Ipswich Brothers, where friendly faces and happy dancers were definitely the order of the day. And what’s next on the OTM calendar? Brisbane dancers, next weekend we’ll be at Geebung RSL on Saturday night, (August 2) and at Redlands Sporting for a rock’n’roll Sunday arvo from 1pm. • • • Caboolture RSL – we’re very much looking forward to a great night there on Saturday August 9. Sunshine Coast people – we can touch base with you at Caloundra on Friday 15th, or at Maroochy RSL on Sunday 24th. Gold Coast dancers – OTM’s at RSL Southport on Saturday 23rd. To complete August’s schedule, we have gigs at Carina Leagues, Coorparoo RSL and Easts Leagues. So there’s plenty on offer.
