CEO Report - Muswellbrook RSL Club

CEO Report
This has been a tough year for the Muswellbrook district, but your Club has continued to grow.
Our Stage 3 Renovations were completed in August last year and we have seen a lot of new Patrons
and Members join our Club. The renovations include a Coffee Shop, extended Bistro with Booth
seating and Private Dining Rooms and new Outdoor Terraces including a Kids Playground. We have
also given our Main Bar and Bathrooms a facelift plus a number of other areas of the Club have been
renovated.
Mega Saturday held on the 3rd Saturday of every month has been very successful with the Club
putting up $60,000 in cash over 12 months and the Bistro offering their $18 All You Can Eat Buffet.
This year we have donated and raised well over $150,000 to local charities and sporting groups,
which includes $15,000 to the Muswellbrook Hospital Auxiliary for their Charity Bowls Day.
On the Financial Figures, our Profit was way below last year`s record result due to a number of
factors including the Motel Income being down, depreciation on the building and equipment being
up due to our Stage 3 Renovations, interest paid on renovation borrowings, more donations,
entertainment and Member Promotions.
Thank you to our Directors under President Barry Eveleigh, our great staff in the Club, Bistro and
Motel and you our Members for your support of our Club during the year.
We try our hardest to make sure your patronage to our Club is totally enjoyable.
Once again thank you to everyone involved in helping to make our Club the Premier Club of the
Upper Hunter.

Presidents Report
On starting, I would like to acknowledge all our current board of directors, patrons, life members,
current members of the Muswellbrook RSL Club.
As from the previous 2013 Annual General Meeting of the Muswellbrook RSL, we have had another
most productive and somewhat exciting year. Not to mention the sad times with passing of some
members and my condolences go to those families.
As part of our objectives and strategies in the past financial year we have provided comfortable
recreational facilities and amenities for our members and guests as well as maintaining a high
standard of customer service.
We as a company are continually introducing and supporting change within the facility as shown on
the completion of Stage 3 renovations. The stage 3 project was complete during the 2013 – 2014
year and we still have projects ongoing. The ongoing projects are the western terrace modifications
and alterations as well as minor stages throughout the club.
We as a club, or part of a family to some, will always welcome you at the front door. Our Coffee
lounge area has now been in service for 12 months and this service has been welcomed by a lot
groups, meeting or just relaxing members & their guests.
We also are proud to have new features in the club such as a sporting theatre and state of the art
TAB theatre along with self-serve terminals. Although our club has expanded, please be assured, the
hospitality and your comfort is always our top priority. Everything in our club will be done to make
you and your guests visit an enjoyable one to the Muswellbrook RSL Club a pleasant one.
Here at the Muswellbrook RSL Club we offer entertainment nights for our members and their guests
so they can enjoy themselves here at our Club. Throughout the 2013-2014 year and up to present
time we try to attract as many people as we can to enjoy the clubs facilities. At the club for those
who are new to the area and possibly new to an RSL Club, we offer a variety of entertainment. We
try to accommodate for every event and all people thus providing full TAB facilities, Keno, pool
table, Juke Box, bistro, coffee area, Bowls, outdoor BBQ & entertainment area, children’s activity
area and three terraces for you to just relax. Not to forget our main lounge entertainment on Friday
nights, raffles Wednesday and Friday nights and our new Mega Saturday jackpot & raffle nights on
the 3rd Saturday of each month.
Charitable events and donations are still a major link from the club to the community of what joins
everyone together. We at the Muswellbrook RSL Club try to do what we can for the community in
various ways. We have a large amount of organisations, private and company holding events and
functions here as well as weddings, birthday`s and it is always expanding.
I would like to acknowledge some people that have exceled to produce excellence and make
everyone feel welcome when they attend the Muswellbrook RSL Club. Those people are our shift
supervisors, all our bar staff, security personnel, courtesy bus drivers, cleaners and the behind the
scenes staff. Thank you to our administration staff for your tireless efforts to make sure we are going
in the right direction and at the right pace.
In conclusion I would like to pay respect to the current Board of Directors, without their input we
could not continue to achieve excellence. We always look at presenting ourselves proficiently within
the Muswellbrook RSL Club each day.
Finally I would like to thank Daryl Egan the CEO of the Muswellbrook RSL Club. It is the time and
effort that Daryl puts in every day that makes us the premiere club. We feel that your club, the
Muswellbrook RSL Club is still the benchmark of Clubs in the Valley.
