MITCON Initiated Site Work for Prestigious Bilateral 6.00 MW Model Solar
Power Project at Neemrana, Rajasthan, INDIA by Delhi Mumbai Industrial
Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC)
The Government of India (GoI) in association with the
Government of Japan (GoJ) is developing a model Solar Power
Project at Neemrana, Rajasthan, INDIA using cutting edge
Japanese technology. Model Solar Power Project is conceived as
the first Smart Micro-Grid Project in India, demonstrating the
integration of solar power with industrial diesel generator sets
(as the backup facility). The project has two components –
1. 5.00 MW Solar Power Project
2. 1.00 MW Micro Grid Solar Power Project
The project is being monitored at the level of the Prime
Ministers of the two countries and the same has been recorded
in the Joint Statement of the two Prime Ministers reviewing the
progress made in absorbing next generation technologies
through the Smart Community Projects and also directed the
relevant authorities to vigorously accelerate implementation of
the project.
Subsequently, Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA)
has accorded its approval for the project on January 20, 2014, to
be implemented and operated by a 100% subsidiary of Delhi
Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC)
named as DMICDC Neemrana Solar Power Company Limited.
DMICDC has appointed MITCON Consultancy & Engineering
Services Ltd. (MITCON) through international competitive
bidding as the Project Management Consultant (PMC). MITCON
scope starts from preparation of the inception report to the
commissioning of project through preparation of Detailed
Project Report (DPR), Selection of EPC Contractor, initiation of
site work and the other activities like assistance in Power
Purchase Agreement (PPA) signing, complying with the other
requirements of the Developer etc. for implementation for such
a prestigious bilateral project.
After the traditional Bhoomi Pujan, the work at site has been
started in full swing under MITCON’s supervision.
