The JPS Board of Trustees approved an agreement between Jobs for Mississippi
Graduates (JMG) and the Jackson Public School District to provide school-towork training as well as incentives to stay in school for selected students at all
seven high schools and the Capital City Alternative schools.
JMG is a private non-profit organization that provides at-risk public schools with
the transitional skills they need to be successful after school in their families,
communities and workplaces. The JMG program includes school-to-career training, job training and drop-out prevention.
In an effort to provide opportunities for students to stay in school, graduate and
be prepared for either college or the workforce, the JMG program supports the

dropouts by providing the training and incentives needed to encourage students to
stay in school and graduate.
