It’s an exciting time to be a BC Paint Horse Club member.
We have been recognized by the American Paint Horse
Association for our exemplary efforts to reach out to Paint
Horse owners wherever they live and enjoy their horses in
BC. Last year, we launched Paint Your Ride BC because we
recognize not everyone defines their horse ownership by
the confines of a show ring. We awarded our first $500
youth scholarship to one of several deserving applicants and
we continue to put our energy and enthusiasm behind well
established programs like the Open Show & Competition
Program and our Otter Co-op Free Trophy Program. The
“Back-to-Basics” shows are expanding and we are thrilled to
be working with Quarter Horse and our members in the
north to provide even more APHA show opportunities for BC
Paint Horse owners. Our board is united in finding new ways
to make our club meaningful to everyone -- especially you!

I was honoured this past fall to be elected as the APHA
director for British Columbia, Alaska and Yukon. Thank you!
I was unable to attend APHA’s convention in February but had
the opportunity to participate in the Regional Club Committee
meeting via conference call. It’s a privilege to work on your
behalf and with some of the best leaders in our organization.
I was thrilled when APHA directors voted to approve our rule
change recommendation to amend the ownership rules for
Amateur Walk Trot exhibitors starting in 2015. This was a BC
initiative that will allow more exhibitors to experience the APHA
show pen, no matter where they ride. We can make a difference!
In my role as your new director, I can assist you when you need
information and help from APHA and I will continue to bring
your ideas and concerns to the attention of the
association. Please feel free to contact me any time.

Hunt Seat Equitation, Hunter/Jumper and Dressage with
some of the best horsemen in the world. David has won many
championships ranging from Green Hunters to Grand Prix
Jumpers throughout North America.
Over the years, David has brought along numerous clients
from beginner riders to Provincial Champions. He never shies
from a difficult horse or a training problem, and prides
himself in finding the right solution for the individual horse
and rider. This is David's passion and he strives to make some
magic along the way.
David is resident trainer at Bellamy Brook Stables in Maple Ridge, and is also available for freelance work
throughout the Lower Mainland and gives seminars in Canada and the United States.
