SEPTEMBER 9, 2014 VOL. 47, NO. 36 September 12th - 14th Come out and support KBC Youth Missions! Youth will once again be manning the Rajun’ Cajun food booth, featuring: Red Beans & Rice, Gumbo, Cajun dogs, Hotdogs, Chips & Soda. If you can’t join us at the booth, stop by the Great Hall after the 10:30 service on Sunday for lunch. We will have food to go. It’s not too late to sign up! Contact Jillian with questions. In light of our long-term relationship, and in view of recent realities in our city, Rev. Jeffery Croft and I decided it was time for another corporate worship service. We will join together in one service (10:30) on this day and bear witness to the God who created us all in God’s image, who saved all who call upon Jesus, and who calls us all to work together. We will celebrate our years working together and we will consecrate our coming work together in Hands On Kirkwood. CHRIST whose purpose is to KINDLE with thy passion us INSPIRE At the Dawnings retreat, we learned and practiced a way for a group of believers to open themselves to God’s leading, a way for them to ask together, “Lord, what would you have us to be? Lord, what would you have us to do?” It is an intentional process for the group members to know each other better and grow as a body. It is an answer to the prayer of every church to learn and be in God’s will. Forgive Us Our Sins as ... Regenerative-on going-progressive-community building—affirming— prompts to be aware and notice what is around us-constructive and in the end, practical and consistent with Christ’s way. Thoughtful reflection, opening your heart and mind to allow God’s voice and vision to be heard. Learning that sometimes the answer is not always immediate but takes time for you to get what God wants in our life and in the life of the church. This can be done through continued prayer and reflection. Taking things we already do, at least know how to do, and reassembling them in a new way. Taking time to focus on the journey rather than the outcome. A call to prayerful listening. Not a one-time or annual or bi-anything, but a continual adjustment of the lense. The goal is not to get “it” just right, but to focus on all of the elements in the frame, or shift the frame.
