Kolhapur local center has organized National Seminar on “INNOVATIVE APPROACHES
FOR LOW COST TREATMENTS OF WATER AND WASTEWATER”, on 20th & 21st Feb
2014.
In the inaugural function on 20 February 2014, all the dignitaries & participant present are
well come by organizing Secretary Mr.B.G.Mahajan, then information about functioning of
IEI,IEI Kolhapur local center was given by Joint Secretary-Ajay Deshpande, Information
about function of Department of Technology ,Shivaji university is given by Prof.B.B.Patil
(DOT,SUK).
Introduction of Key note speaker is done by Er. Jay Bagi, Key note speaker DR.SANJAY
DAHASAHASRA, Who is Ex-officio Member Secretary of Maharashtra Jivan Pradhikaran,
has delivered lecture on the subject “INNOVATIVE APPROACHES FOR LOW COST
TREATMENTS OF WATER AND WASTEWATER”, with slide show, he also pointed out
requirement for water treatment needs, as available good quality water is much less, by
giving figures of water resources in the country & state.
Introduction of Key note speaker is done by Er. V.R KESKAR, Chief Guest Renowned agro
economist Dr. Budhajirao Mulik while delivering in his speech pointed out the need for LOW
COST TREATMENTS OF WATER AND WASTEWATER from household itself, He
explained How domestic WATER AND WASTEWATER can be treated & can be used for
various requirements.
Kolhapur local center Hon. Secretary I.A. Kadam has delivered Vote of thanks.
On day first, total 2 Technical sessions are arranged, Dr. SANDIP JOSHI.
Mr. BAPU PATIL, Dr.G.R. MUNAVALLI, Dr.N.P. SONAJE, Dr. S.V. RANADE has delivered
there expert lecture on the said subject.
In the last session panel discussion on local problems related to TREATMENTS OF
WATER AND WASTEWATER have been discussed which mainly included are pollution of
Rankala lake, River Punchganga etc.
On day 2nd, total 2 Technical sessions are arranged, Dr.G.R. MUNAVALLI, Dr.N.P.
SONAJE, Dr. S.V. RANADE has delivered there expert lecture on the said subject. Paper
presentation activities are carried out there are total 37 papers are presented.
On CONCLUSION, DISCUSSION, FEEDBACK & VALIDICTORY FUNCTION, National
seminar & local center Chairman/Convener Dr. Girish Kulkarni he while delivering in his
concluding speech, focused on need for conducting such seminars, & given thanks to all for
making this seminar a grand success.

this day Tree plantation program is arranged at, Department of Technology Campus,
Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Plantation program is inaugurated By Hands of Vice
Chancellor Mr. Pawar, Shivaji University, Kolhapur. At this program other dignitaries

finance management planned by Sir. M. Visvesvaraya, he further stated that he was first
Engineer who has planned for joining of River in India. He further says, Every engineer must
be Financial manager first. Introduction of Key note speakar Mr.V.P.Kulkarni is given by
committee member Er.Prakash Adnaik. Mr.Vilas kulkarni explained about theme, how it is
important in today’s, changed world scenario.
On this occasion Felicitation of Senior Engineer Mr. Subhash Kulkarni of kolhapur local center
is done, Awards for 5 Best Engineers are given.
Felicitation of University First rank student is done, total 20 Students.
