Advent Hope
It is a special week at Woodstock Christian School. Students and staff are so pleased to offer our community a
gift of hope and light through three performances of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", a heroic tale of
love, faith, courage and giving based on the first book of the classic Narnia series by C.S. Lewis. The Land of
Narnia in which it is "...always winter but never Christmas" through the rule of the Wicked White Witch is
transformed when a prophecy about two daughters of Eve and two sons of Adam appearing comes true and when
the King, the Mighty Aslan returns. Spring, a warming up of the land, returns to Narnia.
Please come to hear and see this story which parallels the greatest story ever told - the coming of our Saviour,
Jesus Christ! In this time of advent, in longing expectation we await the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, just as
the nation of Narnia waited for the return of Aslan. I pray we will continually pray and long for that day when all
brokenness and pain and suffering and darkness will be ended and "The Whole Earth will be Filled with the
Glory of God" in a way that today we can only imagine!

please let me know and we will arrange a ride! ([email protected]). Thank you for your

YIKES!!! There are times when living in community brings stress….one of these times is when headlice or pinworms make their
appearance on/in our children's bodies. Both of these create cause for alarm because of the intense treatments required to get rid of
them. This past week, there have been incidents of both headlice and pinworms reported to the office. Thanks to parents for reporting
these so we can pass this information on to parents of the other students in your child(ren)'s classes. I ask you not to worry about either
of these infestations; though they are a nuisance, they do not cause harm. Yes, it is important to treat them, and I thank you for taking
the treatment procedures seriously. In the case of headlice, we do check heads in your child(ren)'s classes, to ensure there are no others
who have headlice.
If your children do have either pinworms or headlice, please check out the kidshealth.org website - the information on this site
(especially the Parent tab) will direct you through the steps for treatment as well as offering insights into prevention.

Library Open House: Next Monday we are having a Library Christmas Open House! Students are invited to come to the library on
that day and check out some extra books for the Christmas Break. We are encouraging students to take out a different type of book than
they usually take out. We have so much variety to offer! When the students get back to school in January, and providing they have read
the books they can fill in a ballot for a draw from each the Primary, Junior and Senior levels! So, your child will be going to the library
two times next week! The books they take out at the Open House will have an extended due date giving lots of time to read the books!
Thank-You! If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected].
We would like to thank those who came out to our Grand Re-Opening!! We had such a
good day and we thoroughly enjoyed our fashion show that night. We had a full house and
some awesome volunteers to show off what great outfits you can find at our store!!
Our first month back in business has been busy but successful. We are encouraged by this
and cannot wait to see what is in store for the winter months!
There are a few things we are in need of. Please consider helping us out by volunteering.
We are short help on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons. If you have any spare time and can help us out, we’d appreciate it.
Even if it’s just a few hours a week, or even one afternoon a month, it is immensely helpful. Talk to someone who already volunteers,
it’s fun to meet new people and do something different. If you don’t want to be up front and dealing with customers, we have lots of
behind the scenes work to do too. So whatever your interest level, talk to us and let us know what you can do.
We are also in need of children’s clothing sizes 2-6x. There seems to be a high demand for this and we are low on stock! This is unusual
for us, but maybe you have a tote or two sitting at home ready to be dropped off?? We also have a demand for maternity clothing.
Thanks so much for considering us!!
