御調高等学校校長の倉田です。セミナーの閉会に当たり，一言挨拶を申し上げます。本日は，第１４回御調中高国際交流セミナーを計画したところ，世界１０か国６５名の参加をいただき，楽しい時間をともに過ごすことができました。本当にありがとうございました。皆さん，楽しかったですか。留学生やＡＬＴの皆さん，書道，塗り絵，カローリングはいかがでしたか？料理は美味しかったですか？グローバル化が急速に進展している現在，外国語を用いて，自分の考えを論理的に主張し，他者と議論することができる力，他国や地域の異なる文化について，自国の文化との共通性と異質性があることを理解するとともに，違いを個性として尊重する態度，様々な考え方を持つ人々が行動しても，問題が解決に向かうようなシステムの構築に向け，主体的に行動する力，こうした力が私たち一人一人に，求められています。このような考え方に立って，本日のセミナーを企画・実施したわけですが，参加者一人一人が主体的・積極的に，そして，楽しそうに活動している様子を拝見し，初期の目的を達成することができたのではないかと，大変嬉しく思います。留学生の皆さん，広島は，今年８月に生起した大規模土砂災害から，今必死で立ち上がろうとしています。多くの生徒が自ら復興に役立ちたいと，ボランティアに参加しました。また，日本国内や世界各国から多くの義援金が寄せられ，人の心の温かさを改めて感じることができました。広島は，もっと優しく，そして強い国になるため，世界の多くの人々から寄せられる温かい気持ちを励みにして懸命に努力しています。自国に帰られましたら，どうか皆さんの友人に，広島のことを伝えてくださいね。ＡＬＴの皆さん，あなた方は日本の中学生・高校生にとって，かけがえのない存在です。一分でも一秒でも多く，生徒と接していただき，英語の楽しさを教えてやってください。そして，日本の文化を多く吸収し，自国と日本との架け橋になってください。最後になりますが，本日のセミナーを契機に，参加された皆さんの友好の絆が今後益々強まることを祈念して，閉会の挨拶といたします。本日はありがとうございました。 Good afternoon. I am Kurata, the Principle of Mitsugi High School. As we planned our 14th International Exchange Day, we looked forward to having 65 attendees from more than 10 countries. We were able to have an exciting time with all of you. I really appreciate that. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, did you enjoy this event? AFS students and ALTs, how was Calligraphy, Collage, and Curoling? Also, how were your meals? Right now, globalization is rapidly progressing. In this situation, you will need to have the following abilities in using foreign languages: the ability to express your ideas logically, to converse with others, to understand that there are similarities and differences between your culture and others, to respect others by recognizing that their differences are a part of their identities, and to act proactively in order to create a system which leads to solving problems. We have planned and organized this day by standing at this point of view. I am very happy to say this day has successfully achieved our initial goals by watching every one of you participating actively, proactively, and happily. AFS students, we, in Hiroshima, are trying hard to recover from the large-scale landslides that we had in August, this year. Many students took part as volunteers to make themselves useful to the reconstruction effort. Also, we have felt the warmth of people from around Japan and other countries who have donated to this cause. We will try much harder to make Hiroshima more peaceful and much stronger, keeping in mind that there are many people from all over the world encouraging us. So, when you go back to your countries, please tell your loved ones about us. And ALTs, you have a very important influence on our Junior High and High school students. So, please tell them how fun and interesting it is to use English while you interact with them. Also, please experience as much of Japanese culture as you can, and be the one who connects your country and Japan. At last, I will close the day by hoping that you will strengthen the relationships between you and the friends that you have made today. Thank you very much.
