I remember it was 2007.
あれは２００７年だったね。
I was working at this famous bar on Sunset
俺はサンセット通りの有名なバーで働いていたんだ。
bar backing, was a New Years Eve party
バーの裏方していて、大晦日のパーティーでさ、
and I, I think I was, eh, getting ice.
それで、うん、氷を取りに行ってたんだよね。
We wanted ta both do some type of, eh, design work
二人とも、なんかの、デザインの仕事をしたかったんだ、
though we wanted it to be on out own terms.
自分たちだけでさ。
Right at that moment, I eh, had this, this thought
で、まさにその時、アイデアが浮かんだんだ、
as though just a light bulb over my head.
頭の上で電球が光るみたいに。
And so, he came up with, you know,
それで、あいつが来て、
why don't we create this line that has, eh, basically using our names.
自分たちの名前を使って、なんかブランドを立ち上げない？って言うんだ。
And I said:
"We could do this. I, I believe so. I believe we can do it."
で、俺は言ったのは、「うん、出来るかな。そう思うよ。うん、俺たちなら出来ると思
う。」って。
And so, you know, he gave me th the the thumbs up
それで、あいつは両手の親指をたてたんだ。
and then that's how, you know, that was the seed
それで、それが、種になって、
that actually eh, that we planted for David N David.
で、成長してデイビッド・エン・デイビッドになったんだよ。
With that, you know, we decided to figure out logo
それと、ロゴを考えたんだ。
and then try to figure out, you know what type of design pieces we were gonna do and
あと、どんなデザインの作品を作っていくか考えたよ。
we knew that we eh, wanted one of a kind, eh nostalgic pieces
分かっていたのは、何処にも無い、なんかノスタルジックなのがいいってこと。
and so you know, we eh, as our logo, we had a, we used um, a star
そして、えーっと、ロゴは、星になって、
and a, each element represents a piece of your, you know life
それぞれの部分は人生の一部を表していて、
and the last piece being eternity and so
最後の所は、永遠になるんだ。
we can't fulfill that until we figure out you know the rest of our journey.
残りの旅がどうなるか分かるまでは、満たされないけど。
That's what we want. We want to go global
それがやりたいんだ。グローバルに行きたいね、
and we just wana build a brand, license and make glasses and
ブランドを立ち上げて、許可を取って、眼鏡作って、
make hats, cologne, things like that.
帽子、コロン、とか色々作りたいね。
