Shim-pack XR-ODSⅢ
A new lineup has been added to the Shim-pack XR series of columns to better suit your analysis goals.
Available at particle sizes of 1.6 µm and 2.2 µm, in varying lengths, the Shim-pack XR-ODSⅢ was designed to
accommodate demands for shorter analysis times while maintaining the high resolution that only a UHPLC can
provide.
Achieves even higher speeds while maintaining resolution in ultra fast analysis

The sample analysis at left compares results between the Shim-pack
XR-ODSⅡ and the Shim-pack XR-ODSⅢ. Analysis times have been reduced
in proportion to the decrease in column length. Further, while the theoretical
plate number is essentially the same, with the Shim-pack XR-ODSⅢ, there is
basically no impact from the flow rate. As a result, the Shim-pack XR-ODSⅢ
column is capable of achieving higher speed in a conventional ultra fast
analysis, while maintaining the theoretical plate number.

The Shim-pack XR-ODSⅢ lineup features two columns: a short one utilizing a packing material with a particle size of 1.6 µm; and a
long one utilizing a 2.2 µm particle size, which is equivalent to the conventional XR column. This extensive lineup ensures that you
can select a column to suit your analysis objectives, whether it's a short size to further shorten analysis times, or a long size to
achieve high resolution while retaining the ease of use of the conventional XR column.

Shim-pack XR Column Lineup
There are three types of Shim-pack XR columns, offering a pressure tolerance of 35 MPa (XR-SIL is 20 MPa), 60 MPa, or 100 MPa.
The XR-ODS (-C8, -Phenyl, -SIL) enables ultra fast analysis, even with conventional systems. The XR-ODSⅡ aims for further
resolution and ease of use. And the XR-ODSⅢ achieves even shorter analysis times than the conventional XR column, while
maintaining resolution. By offering a diverse choice of columns, Shimadzu is able to provide an ultra fast analysis environment to a
wide range of users.
