Parent/ Teacher interviews are scheduled for Thursday, March 13th. There will be no classes for our kindergarten students on this day and students from grades 1-6 will be dismissed at 11:00am. We will be using the Optis online booking system for the scheduling of appointments and this system will be accessible for your use beginning on Friday, March 7th at 9am and will close on Wednesday, March 12th at 4:00pm. We encourage you to make a special effort to attend parent/teacher interviews. School Holiday/Professional Development Day Monday, March 17th is a District school holiday. Thus, there will be no school for students in K-6. Our next professional development day for staff is scheduled for Tuesday, March 18th, therefore there will be no school for students in K-6. School will resume on Wednesday, March 19th and it will be day 7 on our schedule. Our final PD day for this year is tentatively scheduled for Friday, May 16th. Healthy Living Commotions Shave for the Brave As part of our Healthy Living Commotions initiative we will be having a school wide We are delighted to announce that Mary skating/bowling trip for our students in Queen of Peace has signed up for the Brav- grades 1-6 on Friday, March 14th. Our staff are busy with children in their care during instructional time and they are the number one priority. Thus, staff will not be permitted to take a telephone call during this time. If you wish to speak with any member of our staff, you are asked to please leave a message with the secretary and she will ensure that the message is delivered to the teacher. K of C Free Throw Competition Lunch time in our gym on Feb. 18th and 19th was bounding with excitement as 80 enthusiastic students participated in the annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition (open to boys and girls ages 9-11). Thank you Mme Connolly (retired teacher of MQP), her two sons: Stephen and Mark, and to Maria Philpott and Susan Barry for making this possible for our students. Anti Bullying Day Wednesday, February 26th was Anti-Bullying Day across Canada .We were delighted to honour this day here at MQP! We held assemblies for our students in primary and elementary and the students came away with some really strong messages about bullying and how to stand up to bullies. Our students and teachers looked absolutely amazing in their pink stand up to bullying t shirts which was made possible from many sponsors from our school community! It was a huge hit and school spirit filled the air! We appreciate your support! Basketball Congratulations to our grade 6 girls basketball team for winning a silver medal at the provincials.
