Director, University Health Services
Bayero University, Kano, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to
fill in the above position in the University Health Services.
Qualification:
Applicants should possess MBBS degree from a reputable institution with full registration
with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. Applicants should be members of the
Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria. Possession of relevant
higher qualifications will be an added advantage. The candidate must have a minimum of
15 years post basic qualification experience. He/She must also show evidence of
leadership in initiating, coordinating and sustaining Healthcare Delivery System and
Continuing Education in a University or similar institutions. The candidate should show
evidence of use and application of Computer knowledge. The Director will be the Chief
Administrative Officer of the Department in addition to other professional duties.
Condition of Service and Remuneration:
The successful candidate will be appointed for a period of four years. Salary and other
conditions of Service are similar to what obtains in Federal Universities in Nigeria.

Embassy had collaborated with the United
States Agency for International Development
(USAID) to assist institutions, agencies and
non-governmental organizations in the
developing countries to address many
societal challenges like insecurity, poor
education and other problems.

Mrs. Peterson, who was accompanied by the
Director, Centre for Entrepreneurship
Education and Training, Professor Murtala
Sagagi, and staff of the Business
Administration Department stated that given
the establishment of institutions and centres
in Bayero University meant for research and
societal needs, the work of the embassy
would be facilitated to address many
challenges, including almajiri issue.
Mrs. Peterson explained that U.S. Embassy’s
Department of Public Affairs was also keen
to collaborate with the University on media
and cultural studies.
On his part, the Vice Chancellor, Professor
Abubakar Rasheed, mni, MFR, who was
represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor,
Academics, Professor Muhammad Yahuza
Bello, said the University had gone a long
way in teaching, research and impacting
positively on the needs of the society, by
establishing centres and institutes that
identify and address many challenges facing
the people in developing countries.
The MoU which was signed by the Vice
Chancellor of the two Universities, Professor
Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, mni, MFR, BUK
and Prof. Mohammed Elwad Dafa’allah,
D.U.S. at Bayero University, and contains 19
articles. The issues in the document focus on
various areas of academic and cultural
collaboration.
According to Article 1 of the MoU, “the two
parties shall cooperate in various mutual
academic relationship in programmes such as
Agriculture, Islamic Studies, areas of
languages, Linguistics and Literature;
Shari’ah, Law, Islamic Banking and Finance,
Science, Medicine, Engineering, Education,
Qur’anic Sciences and such other areas that
may from time to time be agreed upon.”
