Allergy – Important Reminder Being a nut-free school, we strive not only to provide products that are nut-free but also an atmosphere that ensures our students feel safe and secure at school, especially our students who have life-threatening allergies to nut products. Recently, certain products that are made from soy products have been directing advertising campaigns to school communities, with the intent being to market their products as safe and viable options for school lunches. While these products are certainly nut-free, they do however, resemble peanut butter so closely that it is virtually impossible to distinguish between a peanut butter sandwich and a sandwich made from a ‘nut-free’ alternative. As children with allergies are highly sensitive to what is being eaten around them, we feel, as a school community, that the presence of these products may possibly create unnecessary anxiety. We appreciate, as always, parents’ concern for the safety and well-being of all children in the school. For more information on providing healthy lunches, with nut-free alternatives, please contact the local health unit, or visit the Health Unit’s website at www.hpechu.on.ca Sun 1 Mar 2015 ► ~ February 2015 ~ ◄ Jan 2015 Mon 2 Tue 3 Wed Thu 4 5 Papa Johns Pizza Fri Sat 6 7 Milk $3.50 for 5 days Ski Trip 8 15 22 9 Spirit Week 16 23 WWJD Assembly 10:30 10 MADD Presentations Gr. 7/8, 1:30 11 12 Papa Johns Pizza Cake Walk 17 18 19 Papa Johns Pizza Lion’s Vision Screening Ash Wednesday K-Gr. 1 Liturgy 11:30 Parent Teacher Report Cards Interviews Home 25 26 Papa Johns Pizza 20 21 Milk $3.50 for 5 days Ski Trip Liturgy 11:30 24 13 14 Milk $2.80 for 4 days DPA Dance Lion’s Vision Screening K-Gr. 1 27 28 Milk $3.50 for 5 days Yearbook Orders Due
