Minutes: Lynda Mason Action Agenda Item 1. Welcome by the Chairman (Lee Nash) Lee welcomed everyone to the Members Meeting. 2. Apologies Neil Vann, John Wright. 3. Minutes of last meeting (Lee Nash) The minutes were approved. 4. Chairman's Report Purchases A promotional feather flag and Gazebo banner have been purchased (the flag was displayed at the meeting. All 4 of the Blood Bikes are on the road. Lee is still to work out how the carriers are to be attached to some of the bikes. 5. Treasurers Report (Steve Smith) Financials Expenditure £ 1,686 - Insurance, fuel and sundry/promotional items Current Balance £ 6,768 Recent donations NEJ Stevenson - £500 donation from a local business (Designers & Makers of Fine Furniture) Warwickshire Meat Association donated £1500 Fund Raising Rugby Bike Fest - £137 Cricket Club Open Day £77.32p Gaydon (Banbury Run) - £61.00 Dunchurch Fete - £37.00 Abbeys Hideaway - £66.00 Mega ride - £37.50 Banbury Run - Steve Smith thanked the volunteers who marshalled on the day. Marshalls usually receive a £10 fee, all of our Marshalls donated this to the charity. Lee thanked everyone who generously gave donations and all of the fundraisers involved. Training (Jim Whitmore - unable to attend) Jim has sent out an email regarding dates for the blue light training. 7. Events (Julie Dulson) A request was made for raffle prizes for the Birthday bash on 23rd August. Please bring them along to the next meeting or contact Julie. Fundraising collection - only 4 volunteers allowed at a time. 12th July Triumph Live - all spaces now allocated. th 18-20 July Mag Weekend. WSBB to attend on Saturday 19th - Volunteers required. 23rd Aug 2nd Birthday Party, The Bell, Rugby - Volunteers required. 30th Aug Blood Sweat & Gears (Antelope Motorcycle Club). The Horse & Jockey Pub, Allesley, Coventry (Bikes & Riders only) 20th Sept Woodlands Garden Centre, Stapleton, Leicester. Fundraising collection - Volunteers required. There are some WFW T-shirts for sales at either £6 per shirt or £10 for 2 (see Martin Paulley for details). b. A38 tunnel closures - Craig to send out an email detailing an alternate route. c. Craig will be visiting the Amid Place Indian Restaurant on the A444, Griff Way, Nuneaton to see if it could be a potential venue for a fund raising event. d. The last Sunday Social Ride out met at Tracey's Cafe Diner on the A444. The general consensus was to use this as the meeting place going forward. These are held on the 3rd Sunday of every month. e. Charity name change - the vote to be ratified at the next Trustees Meeting on 10th July 2014. No meeting was held in June. Hilary will send the minutes of meeting to the charities commission. f. The new WSBB member numbers will be rolled out during July. Everyone will receive a new membership card. An email will be sent confirming the date of commencement. g. There is now a members area on the new WSBB website. Lee has send out the login and password details. The Google Drive will be phased out and all existing information will be transferred to the members pages. The Rotas will stay on Google Drive for the time being until these can be set up effectively on the new site. The website is much more secure and accessible. h. New log books need to be printed. it was agreed that they would stay the same colour and a quantity of 100 to be ordered. i. Lee to contact the Hospitals to officially inform them of the name change. j. It was queried why the silver bike has no Tax Disc holder. It was reported that these keep breaking off and Lee now has the tax discs and should be contacted if you are questioned about them. From 1 October 2014, the paper tax disc will no longer need to be displayed on a vehicle. k. The date for this year's Christmas Toy Run will soon be confirmed. l. Permission has been granted to attend Coventry Speedway race nights to hold a bucket collection. Please contact George if you are able to help. m. Zoe's place tour - this is likely to be held on the General Meeting night in November. n. The Chair asked the members for their thoughts on the events we are attending. It was agreed that: I. more bucket collections are needed for fundraising; II. Only Riders & Bikes would attend fete's etc. with a collection tin rather than members attending with the Gazebo and full kit. o. New Leaflets have been printed - a number of these should be kept on the bikes along with a collection tin. 1,000 copies were donated free by the printers. 9. Social Meeting adjourned at 8.35pm. for Social time. The next General Meeting is on Thursday 31st July 2014 at Coventry and Warwickshire Cricket Club, Binley Road, COVENTRY, CV3 1HB, at 19.30 prompt.
