Conejo Valley Adult School- fall, 2014 Microsoft Excel 2010: Comprehensive Course Syllabus Instructor: Erik Amerikaner Course Description Microsoft Excel 2010: Level 2 covers intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. Intermediate topics covered include formatting worksheets, importing web data, sorting worksheet rows, freezing headings, and more. Level 3 covers advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Advanced topics covered include locking/unlocking cells, PivotTables and PivotCharts, PMT and FV functions, grouping worksheets, trendlines, creating shared workbooks, tracking changes, Windows Live SkyDrive, and integration with other Office applications. Class Meetings We will have 8 class meetings from Sept 10- October 29. The class meets from 5:30 pm—8:30 pm. Course Objectives By the end of this course, you will be able to: Create a variety of different types of charts Sort worksheet rows Create formulas Sort data using various specifications Insert and modify pictures on worksheets Protect workbooks and worksheet content Create PivotTables and PivotCharts Create what-if models in the Scenario Manager Use text functions to reformat data Group worksheets Manage and print comments in workbooks Share workbooks using Windows Live SkyDrive Integrate Excel with other Office applications Work Standards Please arrive on time for each class meeting. The second class meeting will begin with a review of topics covered during the first day. Please notify me if you must leave early for any class session. Follow the ground rules of the course.
