Install high efficacy LED interior and exterior lighting. Install an energy-efficient Pentair pool pump. Install a 5.2 KW roof mounted Solar PV system. Final Results of Taurus Court “Deep Energy Retrofit”: Taurus Ct. is a 2,200 S.F. home built in 1958. The average monthly PG&E Gas bill “prior” to the retrofit averaged $75 and the SMUD Electric bill averaged $300. The “combined” PG&E and SMUD bills “post” retrofit has been reduced by about $340. This represents a combined monthly savings exceeding 85% allowing an extra $340 per month to be "re- directed” to the family budget and the local economy. This is an effective way to turn your home into a “positive cash flow”! The process utilized to complete the Taurus Court project was modeled from the success achieved in Fresno California by Green Earth Equities (GEE) who have delivered the highest level of residential energy-efficiency in the country resulting in two contracts with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The “Community Home Energy Retrofit Program” (CHERP) will feature Taurus Court as a “Case-Study”: CHERP is the most successful public awareness and consumer educational program in the country teaching homeowners how to “maximize” home energy-efficiency and to “minimize” the overall cost of improvements. Jack Frost, President of Green Earth Equities/ Sacramento has been appointed as the Sacramento Regional CHERP Director. Jack is planning to use his home on Taurus Court as a “Case-Study” to help homeowners learn about the wide range of energy-efficient upgrades available to improve the health and comfort of their homes and to learn how they can significantly reduce their utility bills. Jack has a letter of interest from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for a “Net-Zero” Demonstration Project in the Greater Sacramento Region to help CHERP further expand public awareness and consumer education.
