The Norwegian Sea Health Conference 2014
Bergen, 27-28th August 2014
(Radisson Blu Royal Bryggen Hotel)
In cooperation with
Medical examination of seafarers – towards international consensus?
The new ILO/IMO Guidelines on medical examinations of seafarers most probably will lead to more
comparable standards for the seafarers’ medical certificates. Many seafaring nations are now
working on their revised standards, regulations and guidance. One example is the ongoing
cooperation between UK, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark and Norway.
In August this year we gather in Bergen to discuss the approach towards seafarers’ medical
examinations and certificates. Distinguished representatives from the IMO and ILO, as well as from
shipowners and seafarers’ side will gather to discuss the topic.
We invite all who find the topic of interest to participate in the interesting programme of the
conference, and are sure that there will be topics of interest for people working with personnel
management, safety and quality, as well as for authorities, decision-takers, and maritime health
professionals.
