Andrew Fawthorp retires - Southern California

Andrew L. Fawthrop, Chevron’s Managing Director, Nigeria MidAfrica (NMA) Business Unit based in Lagos, Nigeria, has elected to
retire effective July 31, 2014 after 37 years of distinguished service.
Andrew received his Bachelor’s degree in Geology and his Master’s
degree in Earth Science from the University of London in 1973 and
1974 respectively. He joined Union Oil Company of California in
1977 as a Geophysicist, and since then has held numerous technical
and management positions of increasing responsibility, including Vice
President of International Operations for Unocal South Asia, Vice
President of Unocal China and Country Manager of Chevron
Bangladesh. He relocated to Nigeria in 2009 as Director for the
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation/Chevron Nigeria Limited joint
venture.
In his role with NMA and as a member of the Board of Trustees of the
Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND),
Andrew has been a major contributor to the company’s corporate
responsibility efforts in the Niger Delta, overseeing millions of dollars
in social investments and promoting peace and stability in the region.
