ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Food Processing
Food processing is the set of methods and techniques used to transform raw ingredients into
food or to transform food into other forms for consumption by humans or animals either in
the home or by the food processing industry. Food processing typically takes clean, harvested
crops/products and uses these to produce attractive, marketable and often long shelf-life food
products. Processed foods are usually less susceptible to early spoilage than fresh foods and
are better suited for long distance transportation from the source to the consumer.

On the successful completion of the programme a certificate of participation will be given to
the participants by Birla Institute of Technology, Patna Campus- certifying the
participation in the ENTREPRENUERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME on
FOOD PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY.
PROGRAMME FEE AND APPLICATION DATES
There is no fee for this programme.
Accommodation: The programme is non residential. The participants have to make their
own stay arrangement for the programme. There are limited 35 seats for the programme
and will be filled on First Come First Serve Basis.
ELIGIBILITY
The minimum eligibility criteria is SSC or HSC pass. Preference will be given to the
candidates having some experience in agriculture or food processing. Existing entrepreneurs
willing to diversify and expand the present activity also the progressive farmers are eligible
for participating in this training programme. All the applicants will have to submit their biodata, Xerox copy of photo ID proof (Driving Licence, Voter ID Card, School /College Id
Card etc).
