
Piling Contractors in conjunction with the Ballina Bypass Alliance concurrently started the process to obtain approval from the Roads and Maritime Services for this time and cost saving joint. 
Piling Contractors saw significant safety advantages in its implementation and undertook with our Client that if the technology became available during works it would be used for the project.  Piling Contractors brought the system to site in prototype form because of the safety and quality improvements it offered.  The full scale trial at the first project was successful and Piling Contractors subsequently purchased additional PDM units which have been widely used since. c. Enhanced Installation Tolerances 
Work to install foundations for several LNG projects has required driving ever larger steel tubes to tight tolerances. To meet this demand we have increased the capacity of our driven pile equipment (to be able to handle up to 1500mm diameter piles pitched in single lengths up to 33m long), and have fitted our driven piling rigs with Trimble GPS and Jean Lutz pile driving monitor equipment. These innovations put our driven piling capability at the forefront of the market in Australia. 3. CAPABILITY 3.1 PROJECT EXPERIENCE Piling Contractors has undertaken a large range of projects in recent years varying in size and complexity and under different contracting arrangements including Alliancing, Sub‐Alliancing, Early Contractor Involvement, Design & Construct and Construct only. We have undertaken foundation works all across Australia including in remote regions such as the Kimberly and Pilbara regions of Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Far North Queensland.
