Year 5 Trip to Brick 2014
Ridhi Sarmah Kapoor writes: On Thursday 27th of November,
the students of year 5 went for a very exciting day trip to
Brick 2014 at Excel London. When we got there I couldn’t
believe my eyes: It was LEGO heaven! Even my friends could
not help but stare at this magnificent place. It was a great
opportunity for all of us to view LEGO models created by the
world’s best LEGO builders and get creative with the LEGO
bricks. We all enjoyed building our own LEGO monsters.
My favourite part of this trip was the disco with lots of songs
to listen and dance to. All my classmates including myself
danced and sang our hearts out; we repeatedly played “Let It
Go” from the movie Frozen! By the end we were as tired as
the wings of a bird and as hot as the sun!
This excursion was one of the best I had been to for a long
long time. I cannot thank Mr. Owens and Mr. David enough
for organizing this awesome trip!

After School Procedures
As you are aware from the 21 November newsletter,
for safeguarding reasons it is not permitted for parents to wait in the car for their child at the end of
the day. This also applies to late stay. Please also
note that if you wish for your child to be released
into the care of a Senior School sibling, then you
must provide written permission to the school office.
Once collected by the older sibling, no Prep School
child can return to the school building and the Prep
School can no longer take responsibility for the
child’s safety.
On the Friday 21st November 2014 Mr Oza gave
me the most privileged and exciting opportunity
to perform at the city hall. The people who
came were: Mr Oza (teacher/sitar player), Suraj
Shah (senior 5 pupil/tabla player), Radhika Kholia (Senior4 pupil/dancer), Anjali Mavani (senior
5 pupil/dancer) and myself
We travelled in the car of Radhika’s father. On
the journey unfortunately our Tom Tom mislead
us but eventually we found our way there. At
first we saw an amazing dance item performed
by Radhika and Anjali. All four of us children
went outside for some fresh air. We saw the
beautiful view of the Tower Bridge all lit up
nicely as well as boats running up and down the
River Thames. After a few speeches it was time
that the waiters came around with our dinner.
Although we got to eat it was after at least 3045 minutes. At the end there were auctions,
raffles and pledges which for we had bought in
a Rajasthan Royals cricket bat as well as the top
(all signed by players from the team) and a
Chelsea Football team top signed by all the
players. Our journey home was nice and peaceful. Mr Oza even offered me a lift back home (in
his own car). I would like to thank Mr Oza for
giving me the permission to take part in this
event. THANK YOU MR OZA !

Christmas!
Christmas is a time for giving and that’s something we
like to promote at The Swaminarayan School. For the
past few days the Prep School have been making and
selling Christmas cards which can still be brought after school every day from the Year 1 playground.
Enrichment day is also fast approaching (Thursday
11th December) and students are encouraged to
wear a Christmas jumper
and donate £1 for Christmas
jumper day.
Both of these initiative are
going to a worthwhile cause
so we encourage all to participate.
World – Poem by
Dia Kurup 4C
A round Circle,
A round Globe,
Like a Ball,
Blue, Green and White,
In the Solar System,
As colorful as the rainbow,
I love it, so do you.
A place we are Happy,
Do you want a happy world ?
A round Globe,
As blue as the sky,
Sad when polluted,
Happy when green,
A Happy life,
A Happy family,
Well, you have Mother World.
