A VESSEL TO MAKE US PROUD!
The MV “Juanita” is moored just a hundred metres away from the offices of Salt
Ship Design in Leirvik, a small coastal town in western Norway. She is bathed
in sunlight that highlights her sleek lines and innovative design. The newly built
platform supply vessel (PSV) is ready for her christening.
Ugland Supplier AS chose Salt Ship Design after receiving
their impressive design proposal, and good relations
developed between key people in the two companies.
“Salt Ship Design presented a futuristic design to us. We
were especially fascinated by their innovative solutions for
cargo handling and the propulsion system they proposed,”

A PSV for the future
MV “Juanita” is taking a day off from her busy schedule on the
North Sea. Her christening is a celebration marked with speeches
of well-deserved praise – for the shipowner, naval architects and
shipbuilders. Breibandet Big Band is playing on Juanita’s enormous
work deck. Geir Skeie, the renowned Norwegian chef who won the
Bocuse d’Or in 2009, is serving up the world’s best fish soup to
more than 700 guests. It’s a joyous occasion.
“What a beautiful ship! She has now been sailing for a month and
Juanita’s crew is full of praise for her. Our vessel meets our high
expectations; she is exactly what we ordered. I am convinced that
this is the PSV of the future: incredibly flexible and with impressively
low fuel consumption,” says CEO Øystein Beisland.
