Please clean the reactor and plumbing before attaching to your tank. This will n produced in the e remove any ccontaminants thaat may have been manufacturin ng process. Only clean your reacto or with warm water and a single drop o of plain dish soap (avoid dish soap ps with moisturize ers, etc.). We have also pro ovided an “Acrylic Care” sheet forr reference as well. Acrylic will break if drop pped!! Never clean A Acrylic with alcoh hol based produccts. Plumbing thee SMR Reactor: The fitting in the center of the e lid is the water inlet; the fitting offset to one utlet. Always testt for siphoning wh hen making any cchange to your side is the ou aquarium configuration! Therre are multiple w ways to plumb in yyour media n and design – 4 aare listed on reactor, depeending on your taank configuration the followingg page. Please keep in mind that a me edia reactor is inttended to be a byypass filter and is not designed to handle the complete flow and pressure of a large aquarium pu ump. In some insttallations you may want to install a ball valve before the reeactor. Never use e a ball valve to re estrict the flow out of the reactor, as th his can over presssurize it. Fittings should be wrapp ped with Teflon pipe tape. Do not over‐tigh hten when installing – should one e not seal pe and reinstall. correctly, re‐wrap with Tefflon plumbing tap The SMR Reactor is design ned to accommod date flow rates up p to 200gph. We recommeend you choose a quality pump succh as the Sicce Syyncra 0.5 (SMR‐ 1000), Siccce Syncra 1.0 (SM MR 2500) or any p pump rated for 2 250gph or less. Most pum mps feature adjusstable flow rates, these can be use ed to fine tune your reacttor's performancce. Again, a ball vaalve installed beffore the reactor’ss input will give you much b better control of tthe flow thru the reactor. Your reactor is set up to usse ½ inch ID (inne er diameter) tubing. ½ inch ID tubing will also fit snugly aaround the outpu ut from most pum mps in this rating. Three (3) plastic hose clam mps are recomme ended for installation. The third can be used to secure tubiing to the pump iif you choose thiss installation.
