WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Profiles of CCPA Grads As They

SPECIAL PROFILE:
CCPA Alumni have a hit with “Shhh”
In February 2014, Galen Johnson will start his 3rd consecutive
season at the Stratford Festival. He will be performing in The
Man of La Mancha and Crazy For You. Other Stratford credits
include; 42nd Street, Pirates of Penzance, Fiddler on the Roof
and The Who’s Tommy. His time spent with the Festival has
been some of the best of his busy career.
Galen graduated from CCPA year 2 in 2005. He was also a member of the inaugural “Company C” Year III program, in 2006,
playing Lysander in A Midsummer Nights Dream, the Narrator in Into the Woods
and creating his own role in the student written collective, Speak Office. The Year III
program is a part of his training that he considers invaluable. Immediately after that, he
moved to Toronto where he met his agent and began working steadily in productions
across Canada and the United States.
A highlight of his career was We Will Rock You, a musical based on the music of
Queen. This was a dream come true, literally. In his second year of CCPA, his class
was given the opportunity to go to London, England. One of the many shows he saw
there was We Will Rock You. At the intermission he turned to the person sitting beside
him and said, without a shadow of a doubt, “I am going to be in this show”. The
Toronto production played at the beautiful Canon Theatre (now the Ed Mirvish) where
Galen had worked as an usher for a short while. This gave him the unique perspective
of working on both sides of the same curtain.
Other credits include: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Camelot (North American tours);
Guys and Dolls, Evita, Me and My Girl, Anne of Green Gables (Drayton, Ontario);
Riff in West Side Story, Peter Pan, understudy Gaston in Beauty and the Beast
(Neptune, Halifax); Gaston in Beauty and the Beast (Silvermist, Niagara); Alec in
Anne and Gilbert (Ontario tour, Thousand Islands Playhouse); Houdini (Saidye
Bronfman, Montreal); Victor/Victoria (Stage West Calgary); Les Feux Follets (Charlottetown Festival); The Pirates of Penzance (Chemainus) and of course, Spirit of a
Nation (Canadian Heritage Arts Society, Victoria).

short film Shhh, Sarah Ann has been gaining
momentum as a multi-faceted adaptable artist
who’s not afraid of a challenge.
She is currently based in Vancouver and in studio
