We are currently seeking an experienced Marine Electrical Technician for full-time installation and
troubleshooting work. From batteries to satellite TV systems the work varies. Applicants should have
installed and diagnosed problems with a comprehensive range of marine electrical devices and marine
electronics, on many recreational vessels. Successful candidate will gain valuable electrical and
electronics trade environment experience in a professional and client-oriented company.
Job Duties
Main duties include but are not limited to:

Responsibility for:
o the correctness, accuracy, and workmanship of electrical and electronics work
o marine electronics product knowledge for end-users, installations, and troubleshooting
Design, install, and commission DC & AC systems. Includes inverter/chargers, DC & AC
distribution panels, batteries, wiring, solar arrays, etc.
Design, install, and commission navigation, communication, and entertainment systems.
Includes chart-plotter, radar, AIS, sounder, sonar, wind and depth instruments, VHF and SSB
radios, satellite TV, etc.
Work from existing electrical knowledge, blueprints, tech manuals
Work without supervision while maintaining excellent quality of work.
Interact with various suppliers and distributors to procure job-specific materials
Use Microsoft Visio to create customer-friendly, completely labeled system diagrams
Maintain effective communication with Lead Tech and office throughout each project for
direction and confirmation of client's needs, job descriptions, and progress reports
Submit task completion, parts, and billable hours updates daily
Document work with before and after photographs

Must have valid full drivers' license
Must have or provide personal marine electrical and electronics tool kit
Must have thorough experience and expert skills across a broad range of marine electrical and
electronics equipment.
Must have experience with electrical installations on a broad range of recreational vessel types
Must have experience thoroughly troubleshooting and correcting poor electrical work. Expertlevel electrical problem solving, troubleshooting, and diagnosing ability
Detailed, thorough knowledge of proper marine electrical standards of workmanship, and
product installation knowledge (i.e. ABYC Marine Electrical and NMEA Advanced Marine
Electrical Installer certification or equivalent)
Expert-level workmanship skills
Skills and experience required is typically gained from a minimum of 5 years of full time marine
electrical technician (marine electrician) experience on recreational vessels; 8 or more years is
more realistic. Service company experience preferred, though experience in a production
factory will be considered.
