OABCIG HIGH SCHOOL CORE COURSES APPROVED FOR RAI

Admissio n o f freshmen to the Io wa Reg ent universities is
based o n the Reg ent Admissio n Index (RAI) equatio n
described belo w. In additio n, applicants must meet the
minimum hig h scho o l co urse requirements fo r the
university they wish to enter.

+ (2 0 x hig h scho o l G PA)
+ (5 x number o f hig h scho o l co re co urses)
No te: Fo r purpo ses o f calculating the RAI, SAT sco res will
be co nverted to ACT co mpo site equivalents, 9 9 % is the to p
value fo r hig h scho o l rank, 4.0 0 is the to p value fo r G PA,
and the number o f hig h scho o l co re co urses co mpleted is
expressed in terms o f years o r fractio ns o f years (e.g ., o ne
semester equals 0 .5 year). Applicants who do no t po ssess
all required facto rs will be evaluated o n an individual basis
by the Reg ent universities to which they apply.
Freshman applicants who achieve at least a 2 45 RAI sco re
and who meet the minimum number o f hig h scho o l co urses
required by the Reg ent universities will qualify fo r auto matic
admissio n to any o f the three Reg ent universities.
Freshman applicants who achieve less than a 2 45 RAI
sco re may also be admitted to a specific Reg ent university;
ho wever, each Reg ent university will review these
applicatio ns o n an individual basis and the admissio n
decisio n will be specific to each institutio n.
