2014 Jean Hailes Women’s Health Week – Maintaining an ongoing agenda of prevention in
women’s health
Jean Hailes is pleased to be holding a signature event in Australia’s health calendar – the Jean Hailes
Women’s Health Week. This year’s theme is ‘Confidence’ as evidence indicates a strong association
between confidence and positive behaviour change and improved health and wellbeing.
In recognition that no event existed to date in the Australian health calendar, the Women’s Health Week
is aimed at encouraging women to take the time to focus on their health and wellbeing, with a focus on
prevention. The Women’s Health Week will encompass online resources for all Australian women and
their health professionals and a week-long festival of community-based events. All resources will be
made available at no cost through a purpose-built online portal (www.womenshealthweek.com.au) to
promote access to trusted evidence-based women’s health information, and increase reach into more
remote locations.
From all corners of Australia high profile ambassadors, businesses, organisations and sporting groups
are getting behind the Jean Hailes Women’s Health Week. We invite you to join us in supporting the
Jean Hailes Women’s Health Week, and to be part of the journey in keeping our Australian women well.
The attached Key Messages PDF details the different focus on each of the 5 days.
Day 1: What is confidence?
Day 2: Opportunities for health
Day 3: Mind your mind
Day 4: Engage
Day 5: Now what?
