LabREXX Quick Reference for Users of the ® ImproMed Infinity Veterinary Management System: Basic Steps ® • Set Up LabREXX in the Infinity System • Use LabREXX to Create a Requisition The IDEXX Reference Laboratories InterLink™ connection to the ImproMed® Infinity Veterinary Management System lets you generate LabREXX® test requisition forms online and then print them out to include with specimens you send for testing. When you use the LabREXX module: • You can find and select tests quickly, using the online searchable test database. • The printout is clear and easy-to-read, with a bar code containing patient information for safe and accurate sample identification. • You’ll never run out of forms just when you need them most. Before You Begin To use the LabREXX module in your ImproMed Infinity software, your practice must: • Be using ImproMed Infinity version 4.4 or later. • Have an IDEXX VetConnect® account. (VetConnect is the IDEXX Reference Laboratories’ Web site.) • Have Internet access on all computers where you will create requisitions. To request a free VetConnect account: 1. In the U.S.: call 1-888-433-9987 or e-mail [email protected]. In Canada: call 1-800-667-3411 or e-mail [email protected]. 2. Provide your IDEXX Reference Laboratories account number, the name of the person who will administer the VetConnect account, his or her e-mail address, and the name of your practice management system (i.e., ImproMed Infinity). IDEXX will provide a user name and password for the VetConnect administrator. The administrator can add other staff members to the VetConnect account. Set Up LabREXX in the ImproMed Infinity System To set up the LabREXX module in your ImproMed Infinity System, you must verify that the Lab Import Module is installed and that LabREXX is activated. Contact ImproMed at 1-800-925-7171 to order and activate these features. To add staff members to the VetConnect account: 1. Go to vetconnect.com (or vetconnect.ca in Canada), enter the VetConnect administrator user name and password, and then click Enter VetConnect. 2. Click the Account Administration tab, and then click the Practice Administration link at the top of the page. 3. Under Group Members, click Create New Member. 4. Fill in the fields, then click Save. 5. Select the VetConnect permissions for the user, then click Save. Note: Be sure to keep a log of the user names and passwords, for easy reference in the next section. To add staff member log-in information to the ImproMed Infinity System Employees must have records in the Infinity System before they can be set up as LabREXX users. If you need to add an Infinity employee record, please see “Creating an Employee Record”; otherwise, please see “Editing an Employee Record.” Creating an Employee Record 1. Click Setup | Employees | Employees. The Setup Employees dialog box opens. 2. Click the Create mode button. 3. Enter the desired information into these tabs: General, Address, Images, Custom Fields, Signature Images, LabREXX User. The following steps are specific to the LabREXX tab: • Enter the employee name into the LabREXX User Name field. • Enter the password into the LabREXX Password field. • Re-enter the password into the LabREXX Password field. 4. Click Apply, then OK. Editing an Employee Record 1. Click Setup | Employees | Employees. The Setup Employees dialog box opens. 2. Select the employee name from the drop-down list. 3. Click the Edit mode button. 4. Enter the desired information into the LabREXX tab: • Enter the employee name into the LabREXX User Name field. • Enter the password into the LabREXX Password field. • Re-enter the password into the LabREXX Password field. 5. Click Apply, then OK. To Link ImproMed Infinity Products to LabREXX codes: Important! The links must be set up by each practice. 1. Click Setup | Medical Records | Dynamic Lab Screens | Setup IDEXX LabREXX Links. 2. Click the Products tab. 3. Double-click the correct row for the Infinity product. A Link Item window appears. Tip: When creating a requisition, you can skip steps 1 and 2 and link test codes to products after the requisition is submitted. The Infinity system prompts you for any test codes that are not linked. 4. Select the product. 5. Click Setup Products if the product is new. Linking test codes needs to be done only upon the initial setup of each code. 6. Click OK. 7. Repeat steps 3–6 for all desired LabREXX laboratory services. Use LabREXX to Create a Requisition 1. Open the Lab Results Import Module. 2. Select the patient record in the ImproMed Infinity system. 3. Click the New LabREXX Request button. The IDEXX LabREXX dialog box opens. 4. Verify that the client and patient are correct. 5. Select the provider. 6. Click OK. 7. Select the attending veterinarian. 8. Click OK. A Web browser opens displaying the LabREXX test selection page. The tests your practice orders most often are displayed on the Top 20 tab. 9. Click the Select link on a test row to add a test to your order, or use the Search Tests tab to search for and select a test. For information about using the Add-ons or Favorites tabs, click Help at the top of the browser window. 10. Click Next. The Specimen Details page is displayed. 11. Enter any additional information required for the specimen (in this example, a urine collection method is required). You can also enter optional notes and instructions. 12. Click Next. The completed requisition is displayed. 13. Review the requisition carefully. If there are any errors, click Back to make the corrections. 14. When ready, click Print and Finalize. Include the printed form with your laboratory order. 15. You are prompted to verify the products to be invoiced. If the product is missing a link, please link the product to a LabREXX code. See “To Link ImproMed Infinity Products to LabREXX Codes” for instructions. 16. After all products are linked correctly, the Move Products window appears. Click OK when everything is correct and verified. You’re done! Submit the form along with your samples to your IDEXX reference laboratory. © 2009 IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. LabREXX Quick Reference for Users of the ImproMed® Infinity Veterinary Management System: Advanced Tips ® • Save a Draft of the Requisition • Create a Favorites Folder To Save a Draft of the Requisition If you need to save a requisition before finishing it, click Save Draft. If you decide to save the draft, you will need to reopen the requisition to complete and print it. To Create a Favorites Folder You can create a Favorites folder to hold a list of tests for easy retrieval. 1. Open any patient record in your software, and then start a requisition. (You will delete the requisition later.) 2. Find the tab labeled Favorites, and then click Edit Favorites. 3. You are prompted to delete the requisition; click Delete. 4. Click Add New Folder on the Favorite Lab Tests page. 5. Enter a name for the folder, and then click Add. 6. Search for and select tests. 7. When finished, click Save and Close. 8. To use the folder: • Select the folder name from the drop-down list in the Favorites tab when you select tests for a requisition. The tests for the folder are displayed below it. • Highlight a test, and then click the Select link on the test row to add it to the requisition. Questions? Please contact ImproMed.
