Welcome to MSOE
Flexibility for You
Mix and Match
On behalf of the Food Services staff at MSOE,
we are pleased to welcome you to an exciting new
year on campus! We will be kicking off 2014 with
a delicious menu of dining options that will help
to make your MSOE experience even more
enjoyable. Please choose your meal plan carefully
and take advantage of the convenience and
flexibility that dining services has to offer. If at
any time you have questions or concerns, do not
hesitate to call the Food Services Office at (414)
277-7403 or stop by the office in Roy W. Johnson
Residence Hall (RWJ) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Students who live in the campus residence
halls must participate in one of three meal plans.
Choosing the meal plan option that is right for
you requires that you carefully evaluate the
available options described in this brochure and
consider the number of meals that you eat in a
week. Will you often miss breakfast because of
morning classes or sleeping in? Will you skip
dinner due to employment off campus or
attendance in evening classes? Will studying,
extracurricular activities or social habits allow you
the time for eating only a certain number of
meals each week?
After you assess your personal eating habits
and your budget, select the best option with the
best price to fit your needs.
We offer three flexible plans that allow students
to eat any number or combination of meals each
week up to the plan’s maximum meals per
quarter. These plans are ideal for those with
schedules that do not always allow them to eat at
the standard meal times or those students who
do not eat a regular pattern of meals each day.
We also allow students to change their meal
plan twice during the year to adjust for their eating
patterns. Each student will have the opportunity to
change plans once at the end of the Fall Quarter
and once at the end of the Winter Quarter.
The meal dollars* that are available in this
plan can be used in Roscoe’s or in the Skylight
Marketplace. Block meals and meal dollars are
interchangeable. If you find that you are in
need of more block meals, the meal dollars will
convert to block meals as you need them. Also,
the block meals will convert to meal dollars if
you run out of meal dollars but want to still use
your meal card in Roscoe’s or the Skylight
Marketplace. Extra block meals for the RWJ
Cafeteria also may be purchased for only $4 per
meal if you begin to run low.
To keep the dining rate reasonable, food
purchased with the block plan in the RWJ
Cafeteria must be consumed in the cafeteria.
