TARRANT CO. 121 635 820 183 820 Lake Worth 5 miles 30 OVERVIEW The North Tarrant Express (NTE) is a multiphase project that rebuilds several of Tarrant County’s most congested highways. It will provide six to 10 lanes on I-35W, I-820, SH 121, and SH 183. The contract with NTE Mobility Partners (NTEMP) is the first project in Tarrant County built under a comprehensive development agreement (CDA). Segments 1 and 2 W will leverage a $573 million state investment into $2.1 billion in public-private funds for the project that reaches from Fort Worth to the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport. Through this CDA, the state owns the project, and NTEMP will finance, design and build the NTE, in addition to operating and maintaining it for 52 years. Segment 2E, U.S. 183 from SH 121 to SH 161, was removed from the NTE project plan and added to the SH 183 improvements from SH 161 to I-35E.
